Mas high nantalaga ang quality of play in vollege level especially in the UAAP...Could be TAb effect, teama has to innovate and strengthen their lineup to jave a chance of beating Ateneo...

You need a system, yes, but talent too. Would UP, La Salle, and Ateneo have the talent to beat the likes of SMB and TNT? MERALCO and Magnolia have solid defenses too.

Thats because players practice more in college, at least before. Pro volleyball is mostly for visibility for the top girls so they can still get socmed endorsements. Very different from UAAP vs PBA.

Maybe they have a chance but not consistently. Talent does matter a lot. UST ran good modern sets but finished 3-11.

If its PBA rules and PBA refs....Pero if they play in neutral enviroenment like invitational or EABL for example maybtalo anh PBA teams if PBA teams play All Filipino and Collegiate teams play with their usual UAAP lineup with FSA..

PBA teams pjysicalitu and bully tactics on defense are actually dirty and foul in Fiba...

The calls in Fiba Asia are tight except NZ and Aus games but in Fiba Worlds they let physicality. Look in the rebounding they are very physical plays. Actually help us when we became physical in Argentina game.

Dragons currently playing against St Benilde.Like wtf, Gilas cant even host a practice game against the dragons haha

And before we know it, he's could be included in the very short list of the potentially more tactically-mature or FIBA-fit Pinoy coaches. BTW, is he from Coach Franz's coaching tree?

Yup, he's been with Franz from Shopinas/Air21 to Adamson

Management? Isn't that supposed to be the team manager's job and not the coach's?

But yeah, i agree with you about the capable coaches not wanting to leave their current jobs due to stability, especially if they're on the payroll of billionaire patrons.

The field is set , SMB joins Group A with Anyang KGC (KBL runner up), Ryukyu Golden Kings (B. League runner up) and Taipei Fubon Braves( P. League+ champions) while TNT joins Group B with Seoul SK Knights (KBL champions), Utsunomiya Brex (B. League champions) and Bay Area Dragons

Now that the groupings are out, what do you think of the PBA teams' chances? Do you see them making it to the SF at the very least?

2019 Edition with two imports SMB it to the Semis, while TNT was eliminated. This editions may depend if both PBA clubs play with two imports.

I see. With teams from the CBA (usually, with their souped-up line ups) not participating, i think we'll see an unpredictable and more balanced competition this time around. I just hope the FIBA rules and pace of play will not be much of a big deal for the 2 PBA teams.

The difference that time I think both TNT, SMB and Blackwater used the tournament as practice games for the upcoming PBA season they were giving a lot of minutes sa mga bench players(SMB and TNT) and relied on the two imports a lot.

Quite understandable as the stakes weren't high that time, plus each team paid a fortune for their extra import, I assume. This time, it's not just about bragging rights anymore. I hope SMB and TNT would go all-out. Winning a regional title is no mean feat and should be celebrated more, IMO.
