dela Rosa or Dionisio, doesn't matter since their size is more for guards internationally. So its still a 3 guard line up either whichever 1-2-3 setup they use unless they get a 6'5+ wing as import.

Yeah, they need a 6'5"+ wing as an import, I totally agree. More dynamic defensively, e. Rome and Dionisio are backup wings at this level.

The koreans and japs will run circles against JMF. Unless of course SMB fields 2 big imports and relegate JMF as a 6 man

SMB would need to get a guy like CMac, tall and athletic enough to match up with other Asian team's world imports and better success defending smaller, faster perimeter players. Conditioning's (100% fitness after recovering from his knee injury) a bit of an issue though if it's Cmac.

wtf his tnt players are all above 25, mostly near or already 30s. They're not the players we need to expose in international games for some good old "learning process"

before the FIBA asia cup fiasco, the original plan was for tnt to supply the core of the gilas team for the windows, with additional.players from jap/korea or some other pba team.

imagine montalbo playing for gilas again, lol

aside from a 6'5-6'7 wing (wish they could get Shabazz), they also need a big center, i dont think Reavis and Sangalang can handle those bigs from the Dragons, and the imports of korea and japan

iirc something like SMB's 2019(?) combo of Dez Wells + Prosper can be a benchmark

tnt's moore + mcdaniels is more for teams with a solid or decent big man rotation already (probably Ginebra and San Miguel only in PBA)

Good luck with the road fans. Hahahahaha.

But he thrives when the fans are booing him, so...

i remember that finals against China in 2015, he was the only gilas player unfazed by the heckling of the rabid chinese fans.

General rule for imports here sana is, those who can defend 3, 4, and/or 5 effectively. Basically, they should ideally be able to switch and cover ground defensively. Yes, even a center import has to be able to cover ground and anchor a defense.

At least in my view.

They declined it already.. tnt can now qualify to easl, since pba will lend players already for qualifiers… commissioner marcial said they will lend their players in 4th and 5th window while collegiate players will play in 6th window…

What's the source of this, if I may ask?

Besides tnt players are already bad shot to the public to represent gilas… but tnt can perform well in easl since mikey will led this team plus possible Terrence jones and KJ McDaniels… w/ having Jason and Mikey, chot can do his DDO in EASL since those two can capable to run DDO plays…

hope this is true, waiting for a news article to verify this.

I saw of one quinito’s column before.. I don’t saw it now… but sbp and pba will now use more pba players on 4th and 5th windows and not on tnt alone… meanwhile on 6th window, collegiate players will be use, as uaap and ncaa is on off season… that’s why no use for tnt to sacrifice themselves to play in that windows since sbp and pba have agreement…

Ahh, so you just concluded/assumed that TNT will no longer be the defacto pool since more pba players will be tapped. Will still wait for the official announcement from SBP though

Very obvious naman kasi… how can tnt bring their players eh nasa semis sila and possibly finals… and it’s on article already in all sports websites (try to search on internet) that 4th window line up will compose of 10 teams who will be eliminated before August 15… actually if I have to decide, I don’t want to include loser semifinalist because it’s too late to include them too.. if somehow the semis will be reach game 7 then the final date will be August 17… actually in all 4 remaining teams who are playing, it’s junmar that gilas needed.. others no need na because they can be filled by those players who are eliminated already… while I don’t know who will be the roster in 5th window… therefore we will wait for sbp and pba what is their plan there… but again in 6th window, no pba players will play as sbp and pba agreed that collegiate players will be tap in final window since ncaa and uaap are already in off season… so it will be led by tamayo, quiambao, liwag, etc… will play in that final window.. it’s on article also (check/search again in internet) that uaap/ncaa players will be spearhead our team…

Agree on this. That is why I advocate for the early start of Gilas training for the 4th window. I would be happy to see Gilas starting its training as early as August 7 or a week before Calrkson arrives. I think guys like Malonzo, Bolick, Japeth, Oftana, Thompson, Tratter joining Gilas holdovers Kiefer, Thirdy, Dwight Ramos, Tamayo, Navarro, etc. & of course Clarkson & Kai, would be good to go for the 4th window. I see no need for the PBA semifinalists. I would rather go with cohesion/chemistry over composition. Besides, the only PBA semifinalists that I see that could be of significant value for Gilas are Junmar & CJ Perez. No more Pogoy & Troy Rosario please.

Some of the Bay Area Dragons players have already arrived for the PBA Commissioners Cup and the EASL

Just a rant:

"Bay Area" sounded very pretentious and presumptuous, They thought that it is now common knowledge that when Bay Area is mentioned, locals already know it refers to that rich Chinese region that encompasses Hong Kong - Guangzhou - Macau . Well, Filipinos are still US-centric, the Bay Area that we know is San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose-San Mateo-Daly City, basically that part of Northern California, home to about 1/2 million Us based Filipinos.

Why not just call "South China Sea Dragons"?

Who among PBA teams can match up against very tall line up of Bay Area dragons? I mean that is too tall for our local teams, even Ginebra and SMB's tall line up are too small for Bay Area... PBA teams should beat them by skills, But i don't think we can do that as Bay Area team parade 2 imports... Commissioner Marcial (Or Al Chua) should impose two import per team next conference so that PBA teams can match up on them...

The team is coach by a veteran international coach Groosjan, the former HC of Australia....Good luck to PBA teams..

the coach that brought the bronze medal - the first-ever olympic medal for Australian men's basketball team.

If PBA teams can't beat Bay Area Dragons by skills, I smell ala 2009 like physicality by some PBA teams against Smart Gilas, Particularly Coach Yeng Guiao coached teams... Bay Area has to learn how to tempered themselves because those PBA teams will do dirty tactics by means so that they will assert themselves against them ...

Phil basketball: if you can't beat them BEAT them
