Looks like only SMB gets to advance. Assuming they sweep their group, that is. Here's hoping JMF and Cabaggie are healed in time for the semis.

Also, I wonder if this also serves as Prosper's tryout for Alab.

Interesting point. Wonder how Alab will assemble their line up now also. Maybe Balkmania is a shoo - in. They should look for Munzon i think.

Is Niigata one of the best teams in Japan? A tnt squad with scrubs playing is destroying them rn

Nvm they just came back. I wish Dickel would at least try to win it with his best players.

niigata’s import nick perkins played for buffalo.. he played against aj edu last season

niigata albirex ranked 3rd in b. league while ryukyu kings (the one smb will be facing later) ranked 5th. chiba jets (the one that blackwater faced yesterday) was the top seed.

Yikes. TnT scrubs managed to beat them.

You can see what a good coach can do playing with regular line up or with scrubs no excuse to play bad, just play the game the right way, unlike blackwater and gilas with yeng dribble dribble dribble sakit sa mata...

well, b. league have a total of 45 teams (18, 18, 9) across the their divisions 1, 2 and 3. the talents of their country are spread out to that 45 teams so i am not surprised if they lost to some other ball clubs from other countries. however, this problem is actually solved by fielding 2-3 imports.

You're correct but still Japan's top players are playing in the B league, while the lesser quality players are in the B league-2 & B league-3. Its not like Japan spread its top players too thin in the 3 leagues.

So its basically like pinaglaro mo lang yung PBA teams against the top MPBL teams in a certain conference. The difference of course is that there are only 12 teams in the PBA while Japan's B league has 18 teams and Japan's B league-2 & B league-3 have imports while MPBL teams don't have imports.

when you look at Japan's WC roster the most-represented team is Alvark Tokyo (4) who are in the ACC. Utsunomiya Brex and Kawasaki Brave Thunders have 2 each and Nagoya and Shiga Lakestars have 1 each. The rest are in the NBA. Notable former NT players in the terrific 12 include Yuki Togashi of Chiba and Kei Igarashi of Niigata

Agree with this observation.. with the way they're giving burn to their bench guys they're really using this tourney to prepare for the Govs Cup . Pogoy had heroball moments but good defense overall for Katropa and McDaniels offense bailed them out. Vosotros was on key and Semerad really had a field day defending Perkins (who was gassed in the last minutes). He basically played center

I hope Fajardo and Cabagnot play. Fajardo + Prosper is the big man combo I wanna see.

I highly doubt that SMB management will risk Junemar aggravating his injuries by playing him today. That's why they got Prosper in the first place
