Why doesn't Sammy Mejia for the NT? He's one of the best wing players in Europe.

like I said before:

that's not the list, this list was made by some uninformed Argentinian media.
They took the names from an article from basketdominicano.com which is not an official website affiliated to the Dominican federation, it actually is not even a website at all is just a blog of some fan called Jordan Olivo.

They just copy and pasted the names and arranged them into guards, forwards, etc.

The article I talking about was about a list players that were invited to a mini-camp in the City of Santo Domingo a couple of weeks ago. the exact list was:
Wernel Díaz
Juan Pablo Montas
Melvin Richardson
Joan Vallejo
Andy Williams
Manuel Guzman
Santo Martínez
Luis Martinez
Jean Carlos Acosta
and Juam Pablo Montas

this mini-camp was so the Coaches (Dell Harris was directing the training) could see these players closely and from there they were going to decide whether they would invite some of them to the actual "PRE"-team, so I guess you could called this a PRE-pre-Team or the Pre-team of the Pre-Team. or a Pre team for the last couple of spots on the official Pre-team.

the Argentinian website also included the names of Ronald Ramon, Luis Flores
Edgar Sosa, Francisco García, Charlie Villanueva, Kelvin Pena, Al Horford, Jack Michael Martinez, Eulis Baez into their list becuase the article I'm talking about on basketdominicano.com also stated that these players beforementioned were going to be almost certainly invited to the actual official Pre team.

I'm not sure I explained myself clearly but basically what I'm saying is that is not the list and that the federation has not yet release the official list of players invited to tryout for the national team.

Note:and when I say Pre-team I am talking about the Preseleccion, but I don't know how to traslate that into English, becouse in Spanish the national teams are called selecciones but you can't really called a national team a selection in English it does not make sense.

the link you provided, clearly said right at the end at the bottom of the page:

Fuente: basketdominicano.com
just like I said, they took an article from that blog (not webpage but blog) probably mistrasnlated it and made their own list based on what they undertood from the article on basketdominicano.com.

like I told K-2 he is not on the list because this is not the list of players for the nationla team this is some FIBA mumbo jumbo.

now that being siad, he did say he wanted to stay home this summer becuase his wife is pregant and he does not want to miss the birth of his first kid. So I do expect Mejia to be among the players invited to the natioanl team tryout but not to play for us

What about Horford, Villanueva and Garcia? They will play or not?

the traning camp started? not? when will?

Right off the bat I can tell you Sandro Encarnacion, Giancarlos Acosta, Jon Horford, Luis Guzman, Luis martinez and Joel Ramirez have absolutely nochace of make the team. The are just there as filler and practice players for the team.

Ricardo Soliver, Alejandro Salas, Fortuna and Ely Vargas could make it, not all of them obviously, but it will be really tough for these particular players

not the best team we could have but it alright I guess, I mean at least is better than the one from Centrobasket but still too many players missing.

oh well, I guess I have to get used to the idea of a fifth place and a ticket the world olimpic qualifier.

What players are missing that you think calipari should have called?

What's the latest on the NBA players? Which guys will be able to play?

Little confused, are the NBA players eligible for Dom. Rep. or not?

nevermind, I got it figured.

Pitino is using this event to put salt in the University of Louisville's wounds: they are playing in Louisville at the Kentucky Fried Chicken Yum! Center (seriously, that's the name of the arena).

I'm interested to see the results.

The game between the University of Kentucky Alumnis vs. The Dominican Republic National Team will be televised on WKYT-27. Coverage starts at 7:00 PM.
