Domantas Sabonis thread

I really dont comprehend the case of Domantas Sabonis. He is a valuable player but he will probably never win something. How can you grab 21 rebounds and end the game with 27 plus minus? I mean I dont watch his games but this dude should absolutely be in his prime.

Sabonis is peak Westbrook or peak Ben Simmons all star type at C position. In playoofs teams simply dont defend them

They could play fantastically well in regular season with multiple triple doubles stats ...but when nba playoofs starts with real coaching and preparation... nba playoofs comes brick shooters start having seriuos problems ...even if they are all star in regular season level

Sabonis at 2024 was 28 history says that is total peak of most players. But Domas put a such big fail in summer that i dont believe in him anymore in playoofs atmosphere.


Domas stats looks like top 20 nba player,but his teams or dont make playoofs or always lose in first round. I need to see proof that some roster or some coach will manage to win just 1 playoofs series with such very specific type center as teams main big like Sabonis.

So far no coach managed to do that in first 9 Sabonis nba seasons.Neither 4 diffrent ltu coaches managed to figured how to make Sabonis look like nba all star in fiba.
 
Domas grabbed 28 boards (I think he matched all time FIBA Youth record with that) and again is the top rebounder in the world. Cat challenges him well though and even had a lead for a while. He also dropped 3 threes out of 4 and now shoots funny 45,9%. Way to go Domas.
 
Sabonis is the best three point shooter in the NBA right now :D With 47,8%. Second is Jokic with 46.5%. Euros set the tone here too LOL. Seriously, Domas has been good shooter this season as center, hope that will have some reflection in NT too.
 
So Domas is a top rebounder, top shooter and 16th in assists in the league. Dude's balling.
 
Damn, Domas literally trashed the shit of rookie Sarr and punished JV a little bit too :D It was electric performance. OK, he lacks big wins as a player, but I do enjoy such nights. At this point of the season he usually turns into a beast mode. Recently became player of the week. Now playing at superstar pace. 48.4% thees :) Meet the new best shooter in the NBA LOL :D

Harden have won more than 10 playoofs series,played in nba finals,played in multiple conference finals. He is totally diffrent league by playoofs achievements.

Embiid always looses in 2nd round and never healthy to finish playoofs. But he have like 5 times more playoofs series wins.


Sabonis have 0 playoof series wins at 28 old age and half of the seasons this teams dont even make the playoofs.


Sabonis is comparable to D.Cousins or Nikola Vucevic types dudes 20pts 2-3 time all stars that also made few playoofs,always lost in first round and half of the seasons dont even make the playoofs.


Nobody asks Sabonis to win nba ring but not have won a single series in his career yet its hard to look at him as winning player
 
Demarcus Cousins is a good comparison (even though Domas already broke all Kings records previously hold by Cousins if I'm not mistaken) cause dude was 4x All Star and 2x All NBA. Domas is 3x All star and 2x All NBA. But NBA really robbed Sabonis last season. He was flat out all star :D He became All NBA at the end of the season, so it doesn't make any sense. He actually was like 5th, 6th in NBA MVP race. What Sabonis also has is 2x NBA leading rebounder. After this season it will be third title. And off course he'll be All NBA again and will surpass Cousins. Vucevic never was All NBA, Sabonis is simply better.

It' interesting cause Sabonis now stands with Ben Wallace, Olajuwon, Mutombo, Deandre Jordan, Elvin Hayes as 2 times NBA reboounding champs (8-13 spots of all time), but after this season he will pass those and with 3 titles will look ahead to reach Bill Russel, Garnet and Drummond tier (4x). Rondman stands second of all time with 7x and all time leader is Wilt (11x).

I would say Sabonis has some chances to reach 5x rebounding titles and that would equal him with Dwight Howard who stands at 4th position all time (third Moses Malone 6x).

Anyway, Sabonis won last 2 seasons in rebounding and he's about to do it third one in a row. That's dominant shit, man.

Domas is literally putting Wilt numbers. One else does, not even Jokic (that doesn't mean Jokic is worse, but still interesting moment). That alone is something. And even if it's true that he badly lacks winning, he is still underappreciated to certain extent
