I never thought this day would come...

And we all know we'll meet Zalgiris for a decisive game 5 with them leading 94-91 with 2.2 on the clock..and we don't have Derrick anymore!!!

respect to legend derrick sharp.

he was one of a few players that well-defending petar naumoski:)

I don't believe he retired.. It always seemed near impossible :D
The memories will stay in our mind forever, especially the Zalgiris miracle.
I really hope Maccabi would retire a number for the first time, no one can do what he did, no one can be what he was for us fans, if he won't wear jersey number 6 again, no one should.

Let's not be over-dramatic, Sharp retired de-facto a couple of years ago ( 5 min per game in Israeli league is a retirement)

Glad the management found a job within the system for him . Funny thing : both "Zalgiris miracle" creators Gur Shelef & Derrick Sharp are still with Maccabi. :D

Over-dramatic?

It seems you're saved from reading Israeli basketball press. It was "the end of the world is near" all over the place.

Personally I think Derrick is a little late with this retirement : he's too good of a player to be some sort of mascot, entertaining the fans in garbage time.

Anyways, looking behind , it was a great career of a great person.

Legend as a player, and hopefully we'll see him on the sidelines as headcoach sooner or later. Seems to have the basketball mind & motivational skills to succeed there.

Oh, I thought you meant the posts here. Although, I do agree that Sharp hasn't really made a difference on the team for some time, he is still a legend and should be remembered. Though the world is not ending, well not till 2012.:D

Sharp's retirement is one of the signs that the world's going to end soon :D
The next sign would be Maccabeo saying a good thing about Maccabi :p
