Day 7: Serbia v Lithuania

I hope our players realize that with win in this match, we should ease our way into the semis. But, Lithuania is not some easy-peasy team, no matter what everybody thinks. It will be hard, especially because Duda plans to rest some of our key players. I'm expecting to see fighting spirit and will to prevail in this match. So, Serbia with small margin. We need to win this.
 
Very hard game for Serbia, we have to win and to rest players in the same time...After this game team will travel to Katowice...
 
The Serbia - Lithuania rivalry is well known. Liths wont give this up easily. Im not sure we will be able to rest the starters. Maybe Tepic since he has the injury.
 
After the first game (vs Turkey), this is the second time I predict a Lithuania loss. I also gave up!

The quality is there, no question, but their problems are serious, not to be fixed soon.

Team chemistry issues are apparent. I couldn't follow the Spain game thread, so I don't know if was mentioned, but at one point K. Lavrinovic and Delininkaitis were about to fight, for example.
 
I think Lithuanians have a chance in this game. Mačiulis and Kleiza seemed very relaxed in their last interviews and I think that with no tension team Lithuania might actually play better.

p.s. Jasaitis and Kalnietis are out.
 
if Serbia wins, then the group classification is getting its final "form"


Turkey - Slovenia will play for places 1-2,

Serbia will be 3rd no matter what,

and Poland - Spain for 4th place

I must say I am suprised with those who think Lithuania will be competitive, they have shown that they rather be somewhere else with the way they have played

Anyway so far a fairly competitive game and uptempo game. Serbia leads 31-27 into the 2Q

Don't u think that Lithuania is underachieving in this tournament? They r getting what they deserve with the way they play, but I'm sure they could do much better. Being competitive in games like this is a surprise after their EC performances, but it's natural judging by their potential.
 
if we would won agains poland, today would be a match for the 4th place.. ech...how we could loose that game, i didn't understood yet...
 
Well looks like you guys were spot on, Lithuania playing like a completely different team today.

Lithuania 50-46 with 5:30min to go in 3Q
