a de facto elimination game before the round of 16. Greece has been subpar, Poland had issues in closing the games. Who will advance?

In the post-game interviews, Thanasis said on camera that only those who really want to play, should be allowed to play. Papapetrou said also on camera that no one should be pointing the finger or giving directions, everyone wants to win. Mantzaris was clever enough to refuse to comment.

So I'll go with Poland since they're not already in a blame game.

Who are those two blaming?

Do Greek fans favor a loss and just tearing the whole thing down, or getting the best possible result this year?

Some think that a total failure could force the whole federation to step down, so yeah they do.

Papapetrou was commenting on what Antetokounmpo said. No one knows who -if anyone- Antetokounmpo was talking about.
Antetokounmpo issued a new statement via his instagram account that he wasn't talking about anyone, he just said that to 'push' the team.

Basically a reality show at this point.

Nothing will be torn down, the head of federation, who is there for nearly 40 years, will stay there until his death, he'll keep appointing whomever he likes at the coaching position, journalists who get charter flights and hotel rooms paid by the federation will keep saying that now the major goal is the next big tournament and life will go on as normal.

So my hope is that the players manage to work it out between themselves and at least show up and go down fighting.

In this team you have Calathes, Printezis and Sloukas who should be leaders in Pao, Oly and Fener and are making 1.5- 2 million if I'm not mistaken. Then you have Papas, Papanikolau, Mantzaris(how much will he make? ;) ) and similar who should be very important players for Pao, Oly... And than Nba player Papagianis and big Bou. It will be interesting to watch how they will play in Euroleague and across the sea.

I see that our basketball pundits keep referring to smallball basketball as unorthodox, 'a crisis measure', 'guerilla basketball' and even 'icelandic basketball'.
Wth, where have all these people the past many years? Didn't they applaud the greek clubs that play exactly like that?

Are we supposed to throw every game by conceding 90 points solely due to a ball screen? Is that 'orthodox basketball'?
If we insist on that, we could see AJ Slaughter of all people score an easy 30 today.

Greece is going to win this one, comfortably I'd think, unless they want to lose on purpose.
LTU-GRE match-up will look like just another classic then. but a bit early.

If they lose on purpose they are 5th of their group and out or was that a pun?

Match can go either way. Considering that Greece has played below expectations, I don't think that's going to change so I'll say that Poland wins.

Papanikolaou has played 20 minutes in the first half, Calathes and Printezis 17.

70% in 3pt shooting. Other than that, Poland plays better than us.
What will happen when Calathes and co start to shoot bricks?
....................................
Papagianis! The future NBA star!

its way diffrent body language from greek players than yesterday :)
