Really, really hoping Croatia will make a game out of it, even if it results on Spain losing. First place doesn't really seem that valuable, but a reality check will surely be.

Well, really those results should be taken with more than a pinch of salt. There's an enormous gap of talent between Spain, Croatia, and the rest of the group. That said, if Spain beats Croatia by 30 points (quite unlikely, but if the croats take a page from everyone else's playbook and quit after the first quarter, it can happen) an absolutely ridiculous situation would come up where one team (Spain) has +150 basket average, while the rest of the group have a negative one. This aberration, more than being a testament of Spain's basketball level, should be blamed squarely on the tactics of the other teams. Seems like they would rather save their effort for a more winnable matchup, and just don't give a damn about being blown up by Spain's backups.

aco petrovic said he wont rest anyone vs spain.

We will have to see much better Saric just to stay close. But I don't believe this Croatia has any chance, because Croatia doesn't have anybody under the rim to stop Gasol brothers.

Interesting match up Saric / M. Gasol.
Slow start for Spain.

Looks like you got your wish:D Maybe a little to close. Good job without Bogdanovic doing much by Croatia (well until now).

54-53 for Croatia by the end of the 3rd quarter. This is the kind of games that count.

Spain in foul trouble 2 minutes into the 4th. Croatia looking phenomenal so far. I didn't think anyone could play so close against Spain in this tournament.

And the Croats have a few key players who didn't show up for the team, can't begin to imagine how well they'll play next year :)

Spain ant Croatia are playing amassing game.
P.S. Saric - what a hell is he doing?

This is going to be interesting. +5 for Spain and double technical foul against.

I love how the British commentator almost pronounces Šarić's surname right for once but immediately corrects himself to Sarich

Block from Juancho to Bogdanovic and (luckily) the game is over.

Best possible outcome for Spain by winning a tough hard fought game instead of another walk in the park. This could serve them well later on.

Totally agree. A good game for getting warmed up for the playoff round.

funny thing on timeout aco petrović calling for a faul on rubio cause no way he will hiit both, said our smart coach :D not knowing that rubio is excellent free throw shooter
