If Nigeria wins for less than 16-18 points, Venezuela is out, right?

I also support Nigeria because I always root for the underdog but a NGR win could really screw things up for GRE if we win tonight...:(

this is the mentality that i just don't get. have some confidence in your team. you are either good enough to qualify or not. stop worrying about matchups.

9 of the Nigerian players are USA-born (they are of Nigerian descent of course, but I just thought it was worth pointing out).

So we continue to troll Venezuela.

I am not watching the game, can those of you who are watching it weigh in on whether you think LTU is losing on purpose to mess with VEN? I would be shocked if they would do something this risky at this stage...

losing on purpose. you just gotta love fiba basketball.

I won't accuse them of it - I mean it's nothing like Greece versus France 2009 for example...but I have to admit that thought crossed my mind a couple times watching the game.

In this case they would have a legit reason though. There was no reason for Musselman to act that way, and then for his team to follow him. Vasquez was also way out of line. It's a double insult that the tournament host acted that way.

Holy shit, -11... :/

They do look unmotivated, but I really don't think they're losing on purpose.

Nigeria winning by 11, lithuanians are definetly trolling not only venezuelans, but everyone. :D

It would be hilarious if both Nigeria and Puerto Rico win their groups and subsequently play European teams.

I applaud the 15 people who picked Nigeria to win. A very bold prediction given previous results and yet your predictions seem to be coming true!

credits to Nigeria players, they are on fire, Lithuania doesn't lose on purpose, they are professional I think

They're not losing on purpose. Lets be serious. Nigeria is shooting lights out and they are getting the rebounds too. I don't know if they will be able to do it for 40 minutes but so far it's working.

They better not be playing badly on purpose. Disgraceful behaviour of that sort would give Lithuanian basketball a permanent black eye.

:(
