Better that we lost now. You'll see why.

Yes, completely agree.

Russia's coach won the match here. Hopefully Djordjevic will utilize Guduric at SF more and cut Lucic's minutes as he isn't good fit for this team. Serbia was too static off the ball, they would definitively use more cuts. Russia on other hand performed like its final match and it worked well for them this time :)

53 fouls called in this game so far. This is just insane. I hope that someone gets fired for that ref decision...

Fiba are going to fire their ownselves :D ? Reffing is simply ridiculous, calls were plain awful in the France-Greece game too.

We got everything we deserved with this kind of effort. I don't wanna hear anything about fatigue from the coach or any of the players. Russia played a late game last night and had even less rest and played much better today in all aspects of the game.

From Serbia Jovic - Marjanovic can get a good grade. Jovic once again top notch defense and he really ran the offense well when he played. On the other hand, Bogdanovic despite the point tally just buried us, along with Kuzmic (although Kuzmic did have a good last qtr where he did things he was supposed to do all game).

Free Throws:

Bogdanovic 4/8
Lucic 2/5
Milosavljevic 2/4

That is just not gonna fly in serious competition. Also I almost broke the TV when I saw Bogdanovic not passing in the break on -3 5 seconds before the end but keeping the ball with defender in front of him. Bogdanovic will win you some guys but he will lose them as well.

Biggest loser of the day is Djordjevic and his staff. Just a bad, bad gameplan all around. It's been 2 games now and we still haven't played a single minute of small ball, trying to be more mobile and agile. Boban is playing very well, but we have to have a more diverse game plan also...

When even worst Turkish roster ever manages to disrupt Russia's offense, you know this game has to be Djordjevic's fault. Serbian roster is not up to their standards, but it is still better than Shved the turnover machine + 2nd tier CSKA guys + random Russians of the street.

Well, it is better sooner than later for Serbia to drop a game. Djordjevic must create other plans than "let's give the ball to our big down low" and "let's give the ball to Bogdan and patiently wait". If he doesn't, some more serious teams will completely stop their offense.

Congratulations Russia, really well done. Surprise team of the tournament for me so far, first they knock off the home team, then they mug the champs favourites, this is what you call a dream start, great stuff. I hope they continue this. I honestly thought they had be rats asses here, I had them down to finish 4th in this group! :) Serbia seems to be have been exposed a bit here, their injuries seem far more important then it seemed before, if BB doesn't put in star stats every game, they could be vulnerable again. SRB were my tip to win this champs :)

Hardly the champ favorites with this team. That label goes to Spain, imo. If Teodosic and Kalinic (the last two to fall out) were in the team then perhaps Serbia would contend, but I fear this team's aspirations may be a bit more humble - third place at best.

those random russians just beat the best that turkish basketball has to offer at the moment. and I guess that tells more about the turkish basketball then anything else. and in front of the home crowd.
show some respect.
btw. the one you call a turnover machine had two turnovers today against good defensive team.

Well, and this is the best Russian basketball has to offer right now, so... And where did you get disrespect out of it? It is clear Russian team is much worse than old Russian NTs, was my point. Plus I already mentioned Turkish NT right now is garbage, so?

Are we really going to discuss Shved's Turnover tendencies? I hope not :D

This EC is full of surprises and we feared it will be boring :)

i dont know who expected that, i must say that FIBA did marvelous job at degrading eurobasket to the level of FIBA eurochallenge(except spain is like gsw), now everyone can win against everyone, not that im against it but you can clearly see games are worse than in eurocup

I dont know why everyone underestimates our roster. Yes we have some players who lack experience but we have Cedi and Furkan and they are fantastic players for their age group. I dont see any other young players in any roster in this EU who can match their quality and even if we cannot do much this year I am sure they will dominate as a duo in the upcoming years.

Are you serious???

Markanen is lighting up the Eurobasket and he is 20 years old. Doncic is also playing well (better than Korkmaz at least) for Slovenia, Hernangomez is playing extremely well etc etc.

It doesn't hurt to be realistic when talking about things. Cedi is playing really well, Korkmaz is a defensive hole and can't do much more than shoot/transition. Much better and more complete players even at that age range across rosters.

Yes Doncic is great I like him a lot but I seriously think Furkan has more potential, he will get more physical in the Nba, he really has the chance to dominate if he gets things right, not like a Euro star but like an Nba star. Doncic can never match his athletic skills but he can dominate like a Euro star.

Speaking of which, he just got injured trying to save the day with a 3 pointer. Hope it's nothing serious, but I bet the Bulls are biting their nails right now (not to mention the Finns).
Shame there was no thread for that game, it was a lot more thrilling than the one between Serbia and Russia.

Well I disagree, Korkmaz and Osman are 2 good players than are definitely not enough to dominate EC in the years to come. There are at least 6-7 teams with more potential and a better squad than the Turkish team, always talking in full strength and not judging by a tournament in which some of its best players are not taking part.

Are you serious. Furkan will never be even a decent defender, especially on NBA level. He is getting killed by average guards in Europe. He has an akward release but a smooth shot, that stands. He is only athletic in transition without the ball, with the ball he cannot beat a EL level player if he is not DeColo, Teodosic, Heurtel :D He slows down extremely with the ball in his hands. He doesn't attack the basket well with the ball, and when going to his weak side/hand he really struggles. He can't create out of PnR, rather settles for difficult jumpshots. He can be a second unit guy, that can shoot well and run the transition. He can improve some aspects of the game but he will never be a top class player. I am not even going to go into his inability to play tough physical basketball. With that frame, it's even a question whether he ever will.

Doncic is supremely talented in so many aspects of the game and excels at so many at this young age. He needs to get a bit stronger and tougher but already his skill level is higher than Korkmaz will probably ever reach...

I dont think he cant attack well to the basket with the ball, under bad management of Efes he lost confidence. Do you think this is a play by a player who cannot attack well to the basket: https://youtu.be/BKBiOEELAys also at the age of 17? If he physically improves and get self confidence he can make dunks like that in any Euro game. I think hi prolem is not talentwise, he can do most of the things you said he could not. His problem is more mental I believe and I have to admit that this is because Efes emasculated him. Hopefully he will take his game back.

“They are acting so strange to me here. I didn’t say one negative thing about Crvena Zvezda in my life. I like them but before the game started they were shouting at me “you are Turkish, Turkish Zeljko.” I didn’t deserve it. I’m more Serbian than all the people who were shouting at me. Playing the patriot in Belgrade is easy. They should see what I’ve done for this country and its basketball. The hardest thing is to do these things where I do them. I no longer have a friendship with Crvena Zvezda”

If Serbia gets support from the Turkish fans, just because of this man...

As we don't have so many chances, Serbia will play like in Belgrade in the latter stages...
