Crvena Zvezda 2017/2018

Also acoording to Covic statements from this morning Radonjic is probably done with Zvezda...I'm very sad to hear that...

me too I really enjoyed watching zvezda this season. radonjic did very good, he and the team were so close to f8.

I made coachz angry when I wrote that it would have been very strange for a coach to complain so much for financial and other problems and notwithstanding keep on training the same team.

I don't know if this decision is definitive but it seems clear to me that he wants to prove new experiences.

Remember, after one or two years we will see him coaching an important EL team.

As things stand we can say that Zvezda will give an increased role to Petar Rakicevic. He is a bit of a late bloomer that didn't really show up on the radar as a huge prospect as a youngster. He is the same age as Guduric (born in 1995) with a very intriguing skillset. He is athletic and extremely long (204cm) with a 211cm wingspan. He is primarity a SG/SF type like Guduric but time after time he was also given a role of PG and he was the main facilitator and creator of offense. His skillset is very similar to Rade Zagorac but with a much better vision and creation. Of course he is not as polished as Zagorac.

He is a guy that is always a plus to have on the floor. He needs to get stronger since he is quite thin and use the length and athleticism to become a better defender. Offensively he needs better shot selection at this point and again strength so he can finish with contact. The good thing is that he doesn't run away from contact and likes to attack the basket. He is a very intriguing guy that can become a really good pro but hasn't really had a chance to have a crack at top competition since he wasn't a top prospect as a youngster and was stuck on Zvezda roster in a crowded backcourt.

Still early in the summer, let's see. He has the Djordjevic stamp of approval, called up to the Serbia NT a couple of years ago!

:D :D :D I surely hopes he takes a massive contract in NBA, before he gets the chance to show his "skills" in Belgrade :D

As a long term guy at center I would love to give a chance to Stefan Jovanovic (not to be mixed with Stefan Jankovic, although they look alike and they have both played for Hawaii). He is a big with excellent defensive presence beside being an average athlete. He is tall and very long and very crafty around the basket. He played for 3 years at Hawaii and for his senior season he has transfered to Loyola and had a good season. He was undrafted.

Let's get him, we always do a great job with bigs.

A good solution for long term answer at PG/Combo Guard spot is Ponitka's younger brother. He was born in 1997 and plays for Asecco in Poland. I am sure we can swing that by. He could be an excellent scorer for the future but lags a bit as a creator for a pure PG. He is very athletic and we can do wonders with him. He plays very aggressively. Let's go :D

Coach, this is good scouting, but is also starting to read like a panicked stream of consciousness. :D

I would say more like a shopping list. It's clear now that we are starting over so that is exciting in its own way. Gives you a blank canvas pretty much. So now I can browse and choose :D :D :D

Of course, we might completely fuck it up and get a guy like Stefan Pot :D

Stefan Pot zu Fener? :D
I could have sparked four pages of discussion in the signings thread by posting his video there.

I would love to bring back Voja Stojanovic to Zvezda. I think it will be next to impossible due to the fact that Zoran Savic stole him from Zvezda and even FIBA had to intervene with arbitrage in that case. He is in Orlandina in Italy where he mainly plays SG but he is a Doncic Lite type of player. A lot of experience at PG but can play PG/SG/SF.

If we can get him on a multi-year deal, I would be really happy. I am sure the buyout would not be a disaster for Zvezda.

I also completely forgot that we are gonna add the wunderkind Radanov to our roster this year. Bodiroga-lite, supremely talented in all aspects of the game, confident, aggressive. He basically killed Partizan with Bolden in the Playoffs.

Rumors flying around of Raduljica to Zvezda :D :D :D

Personally I have no idea what to think of this. We have no bigs at Center and he for sure has a lot of qualities. Can we get him motivated to play with heart? It's a gamble, but could pay off.

He signed in China some month ago. I don't know what kind of person he is, but looking at his attitude at court, I doubt he would choose to work for less money in Europe, rather than to enjoy well-paid free-flowing, defensiveless bball circus in China :)

and what makes you think that chinese teams would want him back? There's a misconception that it's simple to just sign in China. The foreigners spots are a few,2 per team, you got to be a difference maker to make it there..plenty of players better than Rdjulica were cut in China because they weren't performing.

What makes me think? Probably info that he already signed there back in June...

I think he joined some summer league or something. Their league begins in October, so he will run out of that summer contract and be able to sign for Zvezda if he wants. I personally wouldn't like it but it's possible.

Its official Radonjic wont be anymore coach of Zvezda
big shame for "president" covic and another "president" vucic! fuck u both, stupid assholes.
