Cleveland Cavaliers 2010-11 thread

The Cleveland Cavaliers snapping their infamous consecutive losses with an overtime win against the Los Angeles Clippers tonight 126-119.

Antawn Jamison scored a season high 35 points to lead the Cavaliers. JJ Hickson had a double double of 27 points and 14 rebounds.

And now I have to change my sig :p

Jared Sullinger

Jared Sullinger

With many believing that the Cleveland Cavaliers will land the First Overall Draft Pick on the lottery, Jared Sullinger of Ohio State could be the Cavaliers pick for the 2011 NBA Draft.

If only we could beat the Lakers with LeBron. I guess it took him leaving for us to beat them. :D

Cavaliers, Clippers trade?

Cavaliers, Clippers trade?

Rumor has it that the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Los Angeles Clippers have progressed on negotiations regarding sending Cavaliers Maurice Williams and Jamario Moon for the Clippers' Baron Davis and a 2011 First Round Draft Pick.

Looks like it's a done deal.

We traded a gimpy, low-percentage PG for a gimpy, low-percentage PG. Not sure who really wins here, but we're taking on a pretty big contract.

Jamario Moon? I liked him. He is a very good hustle player whose shooting percentage dropped like a bomb this year.

Maybe we'll find a gem in the draft this year (now we have two lottery picks), but the draft looks pretty weak. Maybe one of those nice Lithuanian big men or Enes Kanter would be nice.

Stay away from Valanciunas, Kanter and Irving, those guys are for the Kings ;)

Aside from those guys and Sullinger I am liking this draft less and less. I've watched a number of the top guys and essentially none of them have impressed me. The only guys that looked alright that I've seen are the ones I mentioned and Derrick Williams and maybe Jordan Hamilton.

Back to this trade................I'm sorry to say that Baron Davis is one of my least favorite players. I'm afraid that now that he is in a situation where there won't be much winning for the immdiate future you will see the bad Baron where he jacks up 5 contested three pointers a game, will shoot under 40% for the field overall and will find some type of 'nagging' injury to keep him out of games. He's one of the most talented PGs to come into the league in the last 20 years and has no desire to improve.

Like you said, Matt, at least your team and my team has the lottery to look forward to.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have acquired Semih Erden and Luke Harangody from the Boston Celtics in exchange for a Second Round Draft Pick.

Now that we got Semih Erden from Boston, I'm guessing we won't be looking for a center in the draft.

Yeah, and even Sullinger seems like he isn't a sure-fit. Of course, he's an Ohio boy, so that would be nice

I just hope he doesn't start moaning and whining. If he just plays, I'll be satisfied, but I don't think he's ever just been quiet...

Cleveland Cavaliers 115 New York Knicks 109

The Cavaliers with a stunning upset tonight lead by Antawn Jamison with 28 points and 13 rebounds. JJ Hickson also had a double double of 24 points and 15 rebounds. Ramon Sessions contributed 22 points and 8 assists.

This is the team I expected to see (minus the production from Sessions). 62 rebounds versus New York's 42.

The Cleveland Cavaliers winning another game against the fancied New York Knicks 119-115. JJ Hickson lead the Cavaliers with a team high 23 points. Baron Davis had 18 points off the bench.

Samardo Samauels is starting to come on. So far this month, he is averaging 16.3 points and shooting 52%. Unfortunately, as with so many big men these days, his free throw percentage is a pathetic 50%.

He was undrafted out of Louisville.

What a win for the Cavs over the Heat :D (Final Score: Heat 90 - 102 Cavs)

They were even leading the Heat by a margin of 23 points at some point during the game...

So now Matt and the Cavs can feel all good till next season cause even though they will end up with the worst record in the NBA this season at least they can say "we beat Lebron" :D

Yes, sir!! :D :D This was a great win. Even Baron Davis was making the "cut throat" sign across his neck...of course, we don't play the Heat again this season, but...

Did anybody else see that LeBron skipped the player introductions before the game? He's kind of being a baby by skipping the intros...I guess he "couldn't take the heat," so he "got out of the kitchen." :D :D

Congrats on this moral victory Mat.How crazy is it that Cavs have beaten Celtics,Lakers and Heat while being a dleague level team for most time of the season.

Lets not circumvent that this was a east borderline playoff team with sideshow bob in the lineup. im guessing their current interior d is on par with that of oakland, CA.
