Well, he shot about 37% FG last EL, which is if you agree not good, in absolutely the best EL team. He had a lot of space and clear shots which probably will not be the case if he goes to NBA.

He will improve, that is for sure, but I highly doubt that his shooting will be better, and with good defense, very good assisting and very bad shooting he will be good, but never great or a legend. He will always need a winning team to show how good he is, but he himself will never be a leader of a team on court, and that will not change not in a 1,3 or 5 years. I agree that for PG "assist first" is very important, but when you have a very very bad shot like Rubio, you simply cann't become a legend.
He's already better shooter than Jason Kidd.

Calderon of course, for number 1. PG. Rubio is young, he will progress, but with that shot he will never be a star. I mean he will have everything, and if he had an average shot he would be great, but like this no way, he is way over hyped.

Calderon-Navarro-Fernandez-weak spot-Pau Gasol, if they play all, probably another gold at EB 2011.

Calderon is out right now and will be out for sometime. He has a serious muscular problem in his calf and you will not see the player he was a few years ago.

I bet a pint that Spain will go to Lithuania to qualify for the Olympics only.

I would say Calderón instead of Pau Ribas, because EB'11 is Olympic Qualifier, only 2 spots available.
Ibaka doesn't hold the Spanish citizen, in the present. Nikola Mirotić or Pablo Aguilar seems to be reliable choices for 4 position.

Aguilar before Mirotic for sure. Ibaka does not have it though he might apply for it anytime and get it immediately. Second pint I bet: he will be in Lithuania.

For Argentina, this will very likely be Coach Sergio Hernández' last game. And he is a fine coach, but his roster-building has been questionable lately, there is some talent that could make a deeper bench, like PG Maxi Stanic, SG Federico Van Lacke, or PF Leonardo Mainoldi. Even Rubén Wolkowyski would still fit better in would competitions that some of our current reserves.

Let's hope the next coach (Julio Lamas?) can get these guys, hope for Walter Herrmann to come back, and pray for any of the kids (Nocedal, De los Santos, JM Fernández), to finally fulfill some of their promise.

I love Spain (and not even because they beat Greece every year, lol)
I hope they win and I think they will!!

Jason Kidd could never be considered a legend, he doesn't puts 20 PPG

Wow. Hold on there. Kidd and Nash are the best point guards the Millenium brought us. That point guard you are mentioning got his team to NBA finals two years in a row.

How is Diego Gerbaudo doing? He was highly touted at the FIBA-Americas U18 a few years ago.

He pretty much derailed. He was at Real Madrid B at the time, but had a few injuries and never developed. Then came back to Argentina and never made it as a starter.

I liek stanic and Van lacke but in my opinion mainoldi hasn't got level for the nt. 2 seasons in fuenlabrada and he did notihng

you are lost! do you know what a point guard is?

No, brother. I'm not lost! I was sarcastic when said it! Someone, before, said Rubio won't ever be a star because he is not a great shooter, then I answered with some irony!
I advise you to check the previous post of the thread

Stanic is 32 and Van Lacke 30. And the problem with Fede is he can renounce to Argentina because he wants to play in ACB League as Spanish (this summer he said that).

Argentina is ruining Spain atm. Before the tournament it was one of the dream finals. but they are playing for number 5 now.

Heard of sarcasm? Thats what he used in there and thats what you failed to pick up.

it seems that spain is collapsed after losing from serbia.

Yes, it was a cold shower. You can always loose, but the buzzer shot killed them.

For Spain it is time to re-start the system: clean up the team, build a new core.
