[Classification games 5-8 ] Greece - Latvia

We tried to lose the game in the final seconds but we didn't. :p This was a crazy game, felt like the greek team wasn't on the floor for some minutes.

Ending up 5th isn't as good as it sounds for this greek team. Unfortunately, the roster was medal-material (bronze, after Serbia and France) but the performance was not stable and in the game the mattered we messed up. Anw, see ya at the Olympic Qualification tournament next summer. Hope we have some new faces till then. ;)

Good luck to all the 4 teams of the semis. Personally, I will root for Serbia, we have 3 Panathinaikos' guys playing there after all, and I wish for a Serbia vs France final!

It seems that was Spanoulis' last match for the greek NT. He announced it a couple of minutes ago.
 
But if Greece ends up 5th will have 8 wicorys and 1 loss (Against Spain).

Can not bee seen as disaster, 8/1. Unlucky that you run into spain allready 1/4.
 
Weirdest game of the tournament so far, teams that go on crazy 24-0 runs tend to win.

While it did the job, i didn't like seeing the shortened rotation again.

Spanulis said so himself? strange desicion usually all veterans retires after Olympics.Greece has good chance making RIO in 2016.What the point to retire after eb 2015?

There's no match for 5/6 spot. Only for the 7/8. Greece already ends up 5th because of the 7-1 record, better than Czechs or Italians can do no matter their game's result.

I agree when parker keeps playing and pau keeps playing spanoulis retires at 33.
Before the olympics the most important tournament in basketball
 
Woah i came here to make a random comment about the game and found out that VS retired.
Thats a big loss for greek and european basketball.About the game its was pretty obvious that the Greeks were heavily influence by their loss to Spain. I expect a similar appearance from italy aswell

I am very suprised that Spanulis will stop playing for Greek NT. Normaly players retires after Olympic circle and only time they retires before OG is if the fail to qualify, I do not understand this.

However is a big blow for Greece and also he is allways a joy to watch. At least Bourousis told will retire after OG.

He retired from the Greek national team. Not basketball. Sure we'll see him for a couple of more seasons at Olympiacos.
He would have been 34 next year. He could still help. I think that now Zisis may also retire. Or in any case, not be selected. This means that some other guards may get the opportunity. Pappas, Sloukas more time etc.

Oooh i got it all wrong,thanks for clarifying that!Silly me,i was kinda surprised because it didnt make any sense to tell you the truth!
