John Cena reintroduced himself to the WWE world in sensational fashion as he saw off Chris Jericho to claim his first-ever World Heavyweight Championship at Survivor Series.

After months out of the ring recovering from emergency neck surgery, Cena made a triumphant return in front of a packed-out Boston crowd.

Jericho's reign over RAW had been a commendable one, repelling challenges from superstars such as Shawn Michaels, Batista and CM Punk.

However, Survivor Series proved one challenge too far as a caged Cena slammed Jericho with a thunderous FU before pinning his opponent for the win.

The Chain Gang Commander's return was in doubt right up until his entrance music was blasted out at the TD Banknorth Garden.

However, when his attendance was confirmed, a victory never looked in doubt as he produced a scintillating display of athleticism to dethrone Jericho and snatch the gold.

What about the surprise by Edge, returning and literally stealing the WWE title. And what is up with Jeff Hardy? Apparently he was unconscious in his hotel room and then shows up and nails HHH and Kozlov with the chair, allowing Edge to win the title. What happened in the hotel? With Hardy's history, you tend to think drugs were involved, you hope not, but that possibility is there. You'd think he had learned his lessons from his suspension, not to mention the whole Benoit tragedy over a year ago.
