Jamaica retires from Caribe-Basket because they dont want to invest more money into that squad when they can invest that money on the Women's NT who is a world class team.

Hmmm...This tournament went completely under the radar. There was no mention of it on the websites I follow...Latinbasket or fibaamericas. Who's hosting the tournament? Is there a schedule somewhere?

The quality of the teams may not be high, but Puerto Rico is sending its "A" team and the Dominicans are there, so I'm interested. I appreciate the information bro.

It's too bad that Jamaica pulled out, they did pretty well last summer and have always had a lot of potential. Their women's team is playing Tournament of the Americas but have very little chance of making the Olympics...I guess they have limited resources though.

Why aren't the US Virgin Islands playing?

because they already qualified to CentroBasket
They won last years CentroBasket Silver Medal.

Rick Apodaca and Daniel Santiago were cutted from the CaribeBasket team. They did not arrived on time for the final cut. They are expected to play in the Tournament of the Americas

Hey Guys
My previous account was deleted. I am living in the USA and apart from ESPN Deportes and sometimes WAPA America I have no contact with PR B-Ball.
Any idea of any PR Radio stations (AM probably) that will live audio stream the games through the internet. In the past Tropical 1480am (http://www.tropical1480.com/) did it but now their website is under construction and the server is not working. It was very useful when the FIBA Media Zone had the games blocked in the WT 2006. I also checked the TUTV canal 6 live video stream, since they will also show the games on TV, but it does not work either. Any thoughts?
Thanks!!!!!!!!:)

Hi, Welcome Back :)

Games will be shown on TUTV, but try WAPA Americas, maybe they will show it ( nothing sure, im just guessing they will show it since they showed the BSN Games... )

If not, I will watch the games from TV and(except wednesday, I will go to Caguas to watch the games) I will try to keep the score from time to time ;)

and tropical1480 was broadcasting the Cariduros games
are you a Cariduros fan?

They were really good this year, but no not a fan. I heard about that station on the 2006 WT, somebody mentioned it in the endi.com forums. TUTV is down so i guess ill just look here for the scores. Besides I dont think any games are gonna be really close, except maybe RD.
Thanks!

PUR/IVB - Puerto Rico crushes British Virgin Islands

8/7/2007

CAGUAS (CBC Championship) - Puerto Rico crushed British Virgin Islands 107-56 to close day 1 of the CBC Championship played in Caguas.

In a losing effort Kennedy Bass had 22 and Steve Parrillon 19.

British Virgin Islands had a 10-7 lead early in the game, but Puerto Rico reacted to win the quarter 29-15 and never look back.

A curious moment happened just at the end of the third quarter. Carlos Arroyo went to the referee Jose Berroa and let him knew how unhappy he was with the way he was calling the game. "Tu eres malo" ("you are really bad" or maybe a "you suck" is more appropiate), was heard clearly from Arroyo who was a victim from the dominican whistle through the whole game. He and the bench got a technical. The attendance at the game went to chant "Tu eres malo, tu eres malo".

sorry for the lousy translation :D
