Interesting to see Bermuda, I don't remember them fielding a team before. They finished second to Minorca at the 2007 Island Games.

They're also scheduled to be in the 2009 Island games, which are scheduled from June 28-July 4, overlapping the Caribbean tournament.

What team here is good contender for other American teams like Brazil, Argentina, Puerto Rico?

Cuba which is the huge favorite for this tournament.
Bahamas sometines has put together a decent team.

Dominican Republic was supposed to play on the tournament but they pulled out to concentrate on the ToA.

Yah, I read that DR was supposed to be in the tourney, but didn't see them in the schedule... thanks for the update.

Trinidad/Tobago 88-76 Jamaica

T&T led 43-26 at halftime, Jamaica rallied to take the lead in the third and fourth quarters but T&T took command with a 23-6 run in the fourth. Steven Lewis with 27 points for T&T, pretty much all in the first half and fourth quarter, and Reggie George with 18. Ian Young had 10 assists. Samuels had 22 for Jamaica but just 1 rebound, and Efejuku scored 21. Chaz Carr only played the first 52 seconds, presumably he got hurt? That would be a big loss for Jamaica.

Cuba 91-79 Antigua

Antigua was up 10 in the third quarter but Cuba took command with a 31-7 run. Silvestre had 25. Lots of free throws.

Bahamas and Barbados both seem to have weaker teams than they used to, not as many pros or players with top NCAA experience.

whats up with the Virgin Islands... their squad is nowhere to be found :(

BVI 85-39 Bermuda

Yeah, it's probably a bad sign when your best players skip this tournament for the Island Games.

LOL, are you telling me that their best players, chose to play at the Island Games over this tournament :eek::eek::eek: How did they think they'd qualify for the Olympics then?

Don´t know reasons, but it´s fact.. Sullivan Phillips (ex-Pardubice, Apollon, ex-hungarian league) and David Phillip (ex-Zaragoza I think) and one other good player take part in Aland games...

Jamaica 77-73 Bahamas

Jamaica rallies in the second half to keep their Centrobasket hopes alive. Efejuku and Ffriend with 18 each, Alonzo Hinds scored 27 for the Bahamas.

Cuba 95-37 Bermuda

Trinidad/Tobago 90-63 Barbados

Barbados shot 24-85 from the field.
