Can Turkey win the tournament?

Before the tournament most people thought they would do well playing at home, but they generally weren't mentioned as contenders to win it. Now that they are off to a 3-0 start, and the traditional top teams look shaky, do you think they have a chance?

Not impossible, they could wind up avoiding the US, Spain and Greece till the final. Serbia, Argentina, Lithuania, France, and Brazil could have something to say about it though.

It's too early to tell. If they can reach the semifinals, there's a possibility that they can win the championship.

Why not? The tournament is open for the taking, but its quite difficult.

yes they can. They probably won't even face the Americans in the final, I see them getting eliminated.

Turkey should hold on that group lead, hard not to now, and they will have an easy road to the medal zone. If they can beat Argentina(it's them right?) then they can win a final in their home ground.

(Is there a way that Turkey crosses paths with Slovenia? I'd really love that game)

Judging from Greece's or Spain's performance based on the first three games, that's not very likely. Although these teams usually perform best when it really matters, while the Americans go down a notch in play off games.

Remember last years championship in Poland. They also were strong in the group stages, but failed in the knock-out round. I would say that they will be stopped in the quaterfinals

Sure Turkey has a legitimate chance. I'd be willing to bet though that the Turkish team doesn't make the semi-finals. They're are a lot of good teams in this tournament. Even the fourth place finisher in any group is a dangerous team very capable of winning on any given night.

Yes. Turkey just cannot face USA. They can beat all of the other teams.

IMO if they meet Argentina their road will end there.It's the most hard to die team,and if they;re not too tired by then,they will defeat them.

But for sure they can win it,as realistically can other 6-7 teams.

For me its not, I hate host winning, usually it has to do with home factor which is "unfair" to other teams

I agree but that could be seen in a different light as well; now they know what it feels like to start good and end bad... it sucks!

Also we could argue that last time the toughest game in the group was the last game and we had to quickly suit up against Greece. This time we can wind down and have a rather "easy" matchup in the 2nd round elimination game.

But to win it such a big task I would dare to pronounce it at the time being but I could easily see us in the semi final... actually anything else is a disapointment.
