I thought about this poll while looking on different forums and talk-backs in Israeli press - many people want to send Bufford home now, some want to wait some time! (I personally think we should give him a chance:)
So what do you think?
And if yes - who will come instead? Suggestion about guys to be cut off from NBA final camps are welcome!

Bufords game is really similar to the one of Parker. He can shoot the three and has a nice mid-range game, can nail the fade away shot. So he would be the perfect replacement, if he would be consistent and motivated. Problem is, he isn't.
His game has a lot of ups and downs, he often disappears and he looks a bit lethargic. Then again, he hits two, three nice shots in a row. Difficult, but I would get a player with more passion on the court.

There is an article in Buford's contracts that allows Maccabi to release him the moment he is caught using any drugs. He should be tested for drugs every single fucking day and meanwhile Maccabi should be looking for a replacement. And it will be very easy to find someone better. Hell, it would be better just not having him on the team without any replacement. At least that how things are right now and I don't believe he is capable of a dramatic improvement. His basketball IQ is a negative value.

I have absolutely no idea. Any player that will not do damage at least. You think it's hard to find someone satisfying such criteria ?

I guess Maccabi fans got spoiled during the last few seasons... it'll be very hard for you guys to get a better player than Bufford, actually it'll be hard for any european team to get one- he isn't that bad unless you expected a complete Parker clone- and players like Parker aren't growing on trees.
Relax, you'll still have a decent team, but not a strong contender for EL title? whoever thinks that after loosing such players as Parker and Baston, putting up a contender team is easy should learn some more things about basketball... that's all :)

I have no idea, but it probably would be not so easy? We need SF/SG combo from NBA (don't think there are any SFs left in Europe for now... - Maccabi probably had to catch McCartey before he signed in Khimky). Actually there may be some SF's cut off NBA pre-season camps - but how much good players there can be? I think that Noel Felix, for instance, was pure luck - Seattle just weren't pigs like Indiana (who doesn't need Baston at all...)

I agree - I think that Buford is good enough, as long as noone expects him be Parker. And I also think that part of rebounding (which Parker did) will fulfill Felix (I have a feeling that he will be better than Baston!)

It's not easy but I still think Maccabi will be top EL team this year too.

I'm not looking at Buford as a replacement for Parker. There is no player that can be brought to Europe that can replace Parker. I am judging Buford according to the three recent games i watched. And what I saw is a stupid stupid player, forcing things, taking ridiculous shots, totally not connected to the rest of the team. And...lazy in defence. Now, based on these impressions I would kick him out of the team today, since I don't believe a 29 y.o. stupid player, making the worst possible decision in any given situation can turn into a leader or even a good role player. I'd love to be wrong about him, but, unfortuantely I don't think it will be the case.

I agree. It will be hard to get any good players on the market today so Maccabi will wait and hope.

Raanan Katz should send to Maccabi Vincent Grier and Daniel Horton:):p (They are SG/SF and PG in Miami Heat Camp)

I agree 100%. That's how he was at PAO + liked to drag on "doobies" here and there. At PAO the fans called him "Buffo" Buford. "Buffos" in Greek slang means a "joint". :D

His suspension he received for smoking marijuana really put PAO in the crap
damaging our season and we ended up finishing last in the Group with a 2 -4 record in the final 16.

its not fair to compaareing Buford with Parker.Unfortunately i understand that this kind of time its too difficult to avoid the comparison with Parker.unfortunately for Buford which is not the half of the player Parker was.Anyway even if you sign someone else you have to pay Buford the rest of the contract and IF and i say again IF you find now a decent player must give him a lot of money. So the decision is yours.Good players are difficult to find this kind of period.

LMAO :D :D :D The slang word "Boof" was used here long time ago to describe the same thing. Guess the time has come to revive it.

Soon NBA pre-season camps will be off - so pretty much decent players will be free... And they shouldn't be too expencive - there are not much alternatives this time of the year - most european teams have their rosters full, so what's left? CBA, Japan, Phillipines, China...

And in any case I think Maccabi should wait a bit. At least for next 5 games (2 with NBA teams, Ashkelon in cup, Jerusalem in league, and Malaga in Euroleague).

some good players are going to be releaved but not players which would make a real difference.NBA and Europe has taken everyone.
sorry me if i am being mistake but i dont remember tha last years signings of every team a real good player which sign on Octomber.

Actually this word is totally in use and has never died. Only it does not describe exactly joint, but somethinmg else from light drugs field ;)

I didn't say there are really good players - I just don't know. There will be some decent ones for sure. For instance, Noel felix seems like a good one. (I am still waiting for tomorrow game with Cleaveland to see him playing, but he seems (by all what I red and saw) like a strong guy which will help Maccabi). So, taking in account that there are more good SG/Sf's than PF's, there still is a chance for some decent players to be free soon.
In any case, I am still not sure Bufford should be released.
And October is not finished yet;)
