For a moment there Russia looked liked they might just get into the Gold medal game, only for Spain to show their class and advance. Meanwhile the Golden Generation were overwhelmed by the Americans for the second straight Olympics. Russia's the favorite, but remember we said the same about Lithuania in 2008, never underestimate the Immortal Argentina.

So who do you have walking out of London with a medal?

I think Argentina is demoralized, and I expect a big bounce back game from kirilenko.

I think the opposite actually, Argentina knew the odds were against them, and by the end of the third knew they didn't have much of a chance. They never really had a lead, they never really controlled the game. Russia dominated the first half and was right there in the 4th, and lost it. If anyone's demoralized I bet it's the Russians.

From Lithuanian experience in olimpic games, the team which lose to usa feels way better atleast in psichological point of view.2 time lietuva lost to usa in semifinal and both times won the bronze.Me too sees argentina getting the bronze in this one.Russia had 14 points lead in semifinal and you dont forget such things so fast..

I vote for Argentina. Their competitiveness is enormous and this might be the last battle of this wonderful generation so this bronze would be a beautiful end. They are not losing it easily.

On the other hand I would like to see how Russia overcomes its defeat against Spain.

Argentina will win this, but I really hope that this tournament will be a swan song for Ginobili and Gutierrez. That ************ flops way too much. I hate his ugly face too, and the fact that he can get away with some fouls.

Gutierrez is also a guy I hate. That PF's shooting 3PTs and FTs like he's better than Navarro.

Once Ginobili, Guitierrez, Prigioni and Nocioni leave, Argentina will lag behind USA, Brazil and Puerto Rico. But no, vets want more medals and won't leave cause youngsters suck :(.

although I would usually cheer for Russia as a european team I want gauchos to take this one..
it would be a great ending for this great generation which played great basketball in the last 10 years..
+ I want to hear argentinian fans on the the stands singing..
simply enjoy south american fans (in all sports except football) and their passion for their NT..

Very interesting game.. Russia is playing quite well for the first 3 quarters and are holding a 4 point lead... Let's see if they break down in the 4th like they did against Spain or will they be able to hold on to their lead.

Hehehe what an ending :D Shved showing his huge balls. Congrats to Russia with the bronze!

Congratulations to Russia. Both deserved to win but Shved decided. He appeared in one of the best moments.

great game congrats russia wirth their first olympic medal

for a moment i thought argentina has this as they had more experience in clutch moments and this sh1t was pretty clutch :D

Has someone noticed that this Russian team with Blatt won all their endings with crazy buzzers (2 times by Monya last year, Fridzon against Brazil) and not only. Meanwhile lost their games in semifinals to the teams which were simple better (France last year, Spain few days ago)?

I predicted a 4pt win for Russia against Spain... wrong game. Hahaha!

Did Mozgov get injured? Why only 7mins?

Argentina complaining a foul wasn't called at the end was this true or not?

Yeah, the Argentines nearly started a second Falklands War with Bill Kennedy because he didn't blow the whistle on what they thought was a foul at mid-court on Prigioni. I only saw the highlights, so I can't attest to what led up to the supposite no-call, but from what I saw Kennedy made the right decision. Through out the tournament, too many games have been decided by the officials influence. I think Kennedy's NBA instincts told him to let the game play out instead of deciding the outcome by bailing out Prigioni.

Thank you Argentina. It was a pleasure to watch this team for the last 10 years.
