Vedran Bosnic revealed that Amar Alibegovic played for us as a naturalized player for all the time in the national team(big surprise for the fans, nobody know), and now that we have John Roberson, only one can be in the roster. Not only that, but also that Luka Garza can play for us only as a naturalized player, so we can choose only one of them three.
It's a big procedural mess which I don't understand, both of Amar's parents are Bosnians(although his dad Teoman played for Slovenia) and Luka's dad is American but his mother Sejla is a Bosnian and she is a daughter of Refik Muftic, famous Bosnian football goalkeeper in the 70's.
Amar and Luka are even relatives and Luka said that one of the reason why he wants to play for Bosnia is because he wants to play together with his cousin and friend Amar.

My view of the current state of the national team:
PG
John Roberson 5'10'' Estudiantes(Spain) 1988
Naturalized American who is a good shooter and decent passer but can't defend or finish around the rim.
Amar Gegic 6'7'' Spars(BiH) 1998
I'm not sure is he even a point guard anymore because in Spars he plays SF and a SG for the national team. He still struggles with shooting and overal scoring, but there is some progress, in this season of ABA 2nd division in five games his 3 – point shooting is 8/18(before he couldn't make a 3-point shoot at all), but his free throws are just 50%. Still, as versatile as he is with his size, athleticism, ability to pass and defend against both guards and forwards he is a valuable asset for the team. His last game against Greece: 9 points, 10 assists, 5 steals, 1 blocked shot.
Sani Campara 6'0'' Split(Croatia) 1999
His stats in the ABA league: 9.5 ppg, 3.1 apg. Not too good, not too bad.
Darko Talic 6'2“ Igokea(BiH) 1998
He didn't play in qualifications because he was 13th player in the previous window and for this window he said that he's injured. In long term I see him as a regular part of the 12 man roster, he plays 15.5 mpg for the Igokea in the Basketball Champions League.
Nemanja Gordić 6'5'' Mornar(Montenegro) 1988
He didn't play in qualifications and and with his bitterness against basketball federation and refusal to play for the national team or at least give an explanation why he isn't available, he will probably never again play for the BiH. But he is still our best point guard.

Dzanan Musa 6'9'' Efes Pilsen(Turkey) 1999
He didn't play for the national team for a long time because of his unsuccessful NBA career and now he will try to find some success in the Euroleague. He was second best player for the BiH behind Nurkic even before he went to the NBA.
Edin Atic 6'7'' Igokea(BiH) 1997
Even when he was without a club for a long time after he and AEK parted ways I wrote: „I am still a beliver, he's 6'7'' with 6'10'' wingspan, decent athlete, can do all the things on the court and finish the game with stats like: 10 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks.“ After decent time in Mega he finally panned out in this season for the Igokea, they are 14-3 in the ABA league and the biggest surprise in the Basketball Champions League, and Edin is one of their best players. He was the key player of the BiH in the qualifications: 14 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 2.8 apg.

Adin Vrabac 6'8'' Krka(Slovenia) 1994
He is the most criticized player by the Bosnian fans because he is the most likely to miss a open layup, shot a brick or have a shaqtin a fool moment, but there has to be something in him because every national team coach find him a place in the 12 man roster, or at least it's because he's never injured and always enthusiastic to play for the BiH and that's enough for the spot because there are always players who are not available. I will finish positive and praise his athleticism and that he plays with a lot of heart.
Aleksandar Lazic 6'8'' Mornar(Montenegro) 1996
He is a important rotation player and team player for the national team, but barely plays in this strong Mornar team.
Ibrahim Durmo 6'8'' Sloboda(BiH) 1997
I am more high on him than Vedran Bosnic who didn't even call him for this window. His career path is weird, last season he was a dominant player in the Slovak Basketball League and then he returned to the Bosnian league where he is of course also dominant: 18.5 ppg, 9.9 rpg. He needs move to the better competition, Sloboda doesn't even play ABA 2nd division.
Arsenije Vuckovic 6'8'' Teodo(Montenegro) 1998
He still isn't called for the national team but 19.7 ppg in the Balkan League makes him a candidate. His problem is that he is too similar to other Bosnian SF's: Athletic, questionable shooting and handle, lack of polished offensive game.
Marko Josilo 6'8'' Igokea(BiH) 1992
It's a weird story. When he was younger and not so good as today he was on the national team gathering, but never made a final roster for the offical game. In this season he is terrific for the Igokea, he deserved Most Improved Player award from the ABA league, but his name is not anymore on the national team list, he wasn't called for the any of qualifications windows. I will not speculate why.

In the game vs Greece he had 23 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and looked unstoppable, but that says a lot about level of those qualifications because in reality he is averaging 3.7 ppg in the Endesa.

He only played in one game in the qualifications because he is listed as naturalized player same as Roberson. This team need him but if he can't clear his status and become available as domestic player, his future with national team is uncertain.

Miralem Halilovic 6'10'' Levallois(France) 1991
In the previous season he was a top scorer of the French basketball league for Orleans before competition was canceled. He then signed for Levallois, struggled with injury and when he finally started to play well Roanne player punched him in the face and because of jaw fracture he will miss rest of the season.
Kenan Kamenjas 6'10'' Spars(BiH) 2000
Biggest positive surprise in the qualifications where he as youngest in the team was decisive player in some of the games, like when he scored 19 against Latvia. In the ABA 2nd division he is averaging 19.8 ppg and 9.2 rpg and desperately needs to move in a better league, at least to sign for some team in the ABA league.

He is one of the best players in the NCAA(although he looks more suited for the European than NBA basketball), but doesn't speak Bosnian and as now can play for the BiH only as naturalized player.

He was called for the national team first time for this window but said that he's injured, coach Bosnic consider him very talented.

Healthy Jusuf on the Eurobasket would be a scary force.

He wasn't good for the NBA, or for the Euroleague winner, but impressions from friendly games are that he will be a first option in offense and a top scorer for the newcomers in the top spanish league.
Edin Atic Igokea → Buducnost
Last season was best in his career, he was chosen as 3rd best defensive player in the Adriatic league and occasionally did great in offense, it wouldn't be bad if he just stayed in Igokea, but Buducnost payed transfer fee for him. It's a step further, Buducnost will play Eurocup, although with guards such as Cobbs and Seeley, and forward like Micov, his role may be limited.

Igokea won U18 tournament „Trofej Beograda“. In the finals they beat Mega 85 : 80, leaded by 6'5'' SG Amsal Delalic(20 points, 6 assists).
6'11'' C Elmir Dzafic put historical performance in one of the games of the U16 final national tournament. 33 minutes, 41 points(18/22 FG), 21 rebounds, 3 assists. He's already linked with Baskonia.
Gegic was terrific for the Cibona in the preseason. Seems like big season is ahead of him, I can totally see him in the starting five of the national team, even at full roster.
Matkovic is now a starting center for the Mega. As a big man he was in the shadow of Petrusev and Simonovic, now they are gone and it's his time. He also had an strong preseason.
Pressident of Basketball Federation on the Garza situation: „We have a contact with his mom. We are working on his documentation and a passport. We're trying to make him an domestic player, that he doesn't play as naturalized.“

Start of the season for our players in the Adriatic league:

30 mpg, 14.3 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 4 apg, 2 spg.
His role in this team is perfect. He starts nominally as SF, but at some periods he organizes the plays, and at some periods he posts up. He defends against 1 – 5, he is a top class defender in this league. 3 - point shooting is again questionable(2/12), but Gegic who is also a good shooter wouldn’t play for Cibona, he would be in Euroleague and eyeing NBA.
As commentator said in the game vs Zadar: “Gegic is physically superior against opposite player, and there are no many players that we couldn’t say that”.

24.7 mpg, 10.3 ppg, 7 rpg.
Good enough numbers in a team full of guards who are unwillingle passers, he is not a good fit in this team.

He can only be better in the next games, I belive that his numbers will grow, no worries about him, although 7'2'' Balcerowski is a no joke competition. Matkovic's game in offense is still work in progress, but as for defense, I can already say that Nurkic is the only Bosnian center who is better in that part.
Matkovic only played for U18 national BiH team, and as he is a Croat from BiH, reportedly Croatia is interested, and he still has to make a debut for senior national team, and that may not be BiH in the end.

19 mpg, 1.5 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 2 apg.
Terrible. He took just three shoots in two games. Sometimes he is on the floor for five straight minutes where he barely touches the ball in the offense. He plays defense and fights for the rebounds, in offense he is just an watcher.
For the national team he is at worst among 6-7 most important players, and this is alarming.

In the last season Mornar had strong roster(Pullen, Needham, Whitehead, Gabriel...) so Lazic's impact was low, but now they have modest roster, and there isn't much a difference. Lazic is a player with really limited skillset, only way he scores for 2 are open floor dunks, and he still has to make his first 2 points in the season. He made 3/9 three – point shots, and while I wouldn't call him a reliable shooter, he is at least passable, especially for the our, very brick - esque national team.
He is in 12 players for the BiH in every combination, small forward/power forward with great body and athleticism, defense was never a issue, there is always a role for him in the BiH team.

Split is arguably the worst team in the league, and Campara doesn't distinguishes himself in that environment. Campara is different than most of our other guys by that that he is of average human height and chubby, while others, no matter how unskilled are they, are at least more than 200 cm tall and muscular. So he can't provide in defense, nothing new, but right now he can't provide in offense too, his shoot isn't falling, and as for playmaking, he was always one of those shooting guards stuck in the size of the point guard, and only because of that forced to play PG.
Even with naturalized Roberson(who is also shoot first – pass second type of PG) in the roster we still don't have depth on PG position, and that's a only reason why Campara have realistic chances to be a part of the team even at Eurobasket. In reality, national team with any sort of ambitions wouldn't have him in the roster on the big scene.

Igokea signed few American guards, and there goes my hopes that he will play significant role in this season. Now he seems like that local player who will stay loyal to the team for years, with role depending on the strength of the roster, but never really important. Seems like Bosnia should have a nice core in Nurkic, Musa, Gegic and naturalized American for Eurobasket 2022. The depth is an issue off course. There's probably almost no chance to survive the group consisted from France, Slovenia, Lithuania, Germany, but Bosnia can be a hard nut to crack for anybody at the given day. The fact that any team will have to run for their money even playing against Bosnia and Hungary makes it pretty hilarious. If only Alibegovic could play as not – naturalized player we would have nice rotation for the World Cup qualifications:

I am interested only if he will not play as naturalized player, because C is the only position where we have depth, we simply can't use naturalized player card on some C. His offensive skills are top notch, he can shot and have full bag of tricks under the basket, but his defense is non-existential, he's probably worst center on that side of the floor in the NBA.

Atic againt Valencia played his first good game for Buducnost and club site choose him for the MVP of the game. Because he is too streaky and unconstant in offense one can't expect that he perform like this regularly, but this game gives some optimism about his career in Buducnost. There is a room for him on the floor, when Micov plays SF then Atic plays SG, and when Micov plays PF then Atic plays SF.

Alibegovic's dunk was selected as play of the 5th round in Italian league. Our players are regularly selected for those Top Plays of the Round videos in their leagues, even when they don't play good games, and as they like to finish strong we are somehow attractive team to watch.
Power forward with a long range is exactly a piece we need to complete roster, but as we cant' afford to stay without shooting - point guard as we have in John Roberson, he's on stand by as long as he can play only as naturalized played, although both of his dad and mom, Teoman and Lejla Alibegovic, are from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Kamenjas and Matkovic are not 7-footers, but they compensate it on different ways.
Kamenjas isn't a high jumper, doesn't have great length, but he is extraordinary strong. He outmuscles his opponents in offense and defense. He isn't a rim protector, and struggles against tall and skilled centers, but he moves well, can switch. There are ways to use him in defense.
Matković is athletic and long, don't let his 209 cm fool you, his tools are tremendous. He regularly scores from alley-oop dunks, he's one of the best rim protectors in the Adriatic league, and also he against Cibona tried this

Dzanan Musa should return to national team after three years. He's the third best scorer of the Spanish league, and our best offensive player, although his offensive game is full of holes:
- unreliable shooter
- weak frame/body, can't finish through contact
- wants to go left in every drive
- occasionally ignores open teammates
- not a great pick and roll player
But this 205 cm tall guard with scoring instincts, and for his height great handles and quickness, is still our Go – To – Guy. As he is too physically weak to defend forwards, and too tall to defend guards, defense isn't his strong side, but we have enough options on positions 2 and 3 who are not as skilled as Musa, but are better athletes and defenders.

Interesting team. A few very good fighters and as you said very strong players but it lacks somehow fundamentals.
Gegic is very good this season, Musa plays good in Spain, other hot-cold but for Bulgaria it should be enough. Will be tough battle against Czechs. Good luck.

He’s tested daily, so in case of negative results there is a slim chance that he may join us at some point.
