Dont know where this thread would go but here we go....

Does anyone know what the biggest win in FIBA history is? Iknow the Philippines beat Brunei by some ungodly ridiculous score, but Im just curious.Thanks.

it'd be nice if you posted a score to show the game margin difference.

OK found it on the website.

160-19

141 pts. It says its the biggest lead.

apparently compassion was not a word found in the players dictionary that day

European chamionships
1953 USSR-Denmark 118-14 (58-3)
1939 Lithuania-Finland 112-9 (48-3)

i no a few
China 98 - KSA 10 (2005 ABC)
Lebanon 117 - Malaysia 29 (2006 U18 ABC)
South Korea 145 - Mongola 56 (2002 Asian Games)

This is why China cannot improve by playing in Asia! Yao Ming didn't even play in this game! KSA finished 8th in Asia! 8th! To get to Asia Championship, KSA had to beat Bahrain, UAE and Oman in the Asia-Gulf Region Qualifier! Then to be able to play with China they beat Malaysia (who beat Singapore, Vietnam and Thailand to qualify!) and Kuwait! And then they lost by 44 to Korea and 88 to China! (China beat Korea by 44 that year...)

Well i believe lebanon is atleast 15 points better than the 3rd best team in asia(korea) especially that i dont count qatar as a team seeing that all of their natural team is naturalized which is really a disgrace !!! Asia really has different levels for teams but most of these teams dont even have the height or the talent to compete with other continents . Qatar for example with all its naturalized players lost every game in the world cup by 30 and 40 points and appeared to be at a different level than the other teams . And for the chinese fan KSA lost by 44 to Japan not Korea !

When i was 15 or something like that i saw the Denver Nuggets play the Pheonix
Suns in Pheonix.
At that time the Nuggets were playing an amazing Run and Gun fast break type game.
Believe it or not the Nuggets scored over 100 points in the 1st half. I can't remember the final score of the game but incredibly the Nuggets lost.
Thats true:cool:

Yeah that was the team, coach ect but not the game i saw, it was against the suns. I think it was a year or so later. What a great website you found though Rikhardur:cool:

2nd sinoball there. i dont understand why they dont. is it purely based on the racial/ethnic divide or something? as far as I'm concerned imho the "oceania" segment still is in the context of the asian continental region. to me it would make more sense to have them in the same basketball org also.

Australia is a different continent, Australiasia is clearly a spearate geographical unit. if they should play in Asian segment, then why shouldn't Europeans play in Asia as well..

At the Lusophone games a few weeks ago (not an official FIBA competition, but Portugal and Angola sent pretty strong teams) here were East Timor's results:

Angola 193-33 East Timor
Guinea-Bissau 172-25 East Timor
Portugal 178-69 East Timor
Macau 142-38 East Timor
Cape Verde 147-30 East Timor

Their futsal team also lost 76-0 to Brazil.

IIRC Angola scored over 200 against someone in an African junior competition once. I think I also saw a score of over 200 at an African women's championship. At the Americas U18 women's championship in 2004, the USA was up 56-3 over Bolivia after the first quarter but let up and won "only" 143-24.

In 1992 ABC Youth Women's game between China and the Philippines, according to RP sportswriter Chino Trinidad, our women's team lost to the mighty chinese to the tune of 111-14! a 97-point winning margin, and our cagebelles scored just one field goal in the second half.

I think Armenia deserves to be mentionned in this thread. In 2007, they send teams at the U16 and U18 european division B championship.

U16
Bosnia-Herzegovina vs Armenia: 236-27 :D
Irland vs Armenia: 124-35
Austria vs Armenia: 137-26
England vs Armenia: 139-24
Roumania vs Armenia: 100-38
Norway vs Armenia: 106-27

Norway and Roumania finished 19th and 20th on 21 teams. No need to explain who finished last.

The U18 team was way better losing only 141-33 to Poland for example.

So is the 236-27 the biggest blowout ever?
