I hope Barsa will split ways with Calathes. If Saras couldn't win the title with him, no-one will. Satoransky and even better Jokubaitis make perfect sense for 1 position. Besides, I still treat final 4 a joke. You working all season to win regular season just to lose one game in the final 4. This is BS...EL puts itself into amateurish league's shoes this way, just as in many ways they are compared to NBA.

Why even better?

Satoransky, Jokubaitis, Higgins, Lapro

If Higgins healthy and still Higgins we know, I think that's champs worthy guards rotation

Barca was already champ rotation but Saras made a big mistake with (not)using Kuric and Sanli in semi. Both players are winners and the best players on their positions.

If I could choose sg and Center for Fener that would be those two. But Saras think different and he is the boss:D

Kuric had problematic stretch before final 4, lacked playing experience and was off shape and Saras regretted about it before the game in the interview. He didn't use him much because of that reason. Sanli made some defensive rotation mistakes (as usual) and Saras benched him. I mean both probably could play a bit more, but that's it. The reason why they didn't play much was obvious.

Bullshit!! He is the best EL shooter but in wrong team. In Ataman's system I could imagine him with over 50%

Ok I understand bro, but I would risk in his place, at least with Kuric

OK, according to Ugur Ozan Sulak Satoransky agreed with Barca, Vesely is also finished, Barca signed in addition Da Silva. The situation of Jokubaitis is interesting. Alain Diegbeu said that he could go to New York if NY doesnt draft a Point Guard but his role will change a bit because Calathes has a contract with Barca.

Exactly. The confidence Ataman gives to his players is unreal. That's why he's talking about a three-peat while Saras is obsessively re-watching Efes games while shouting "But he's got no plays! He's got no plays!!!"

But Jasikevicius won 2 EL titles and Eurobasket title playing liberal Ataman's style basketball. He stuck too much with the idea that Obradovic is the GOAT coach of Europe forgetting his success as a player. He never yet had something like 2003 Maccabi, Lithuania or recent Efes though. On other hand, people forget that prior Jasikevicius, Barselona was a mess. If he had dominant offensive guards I think he would play differently. Well, time will tell.

At the beggining of this EL season, I was saying that Efes still have best guard line and thus they are the best team in EL. Toruko opposed me. But I was right. To me Barsa looked most deadly when no-one could stop Jokubaitis drives in crunch time and Lapro played great too and Calathes was just some-one out there or out with the injury. When this ceased and Barsa was pounding the ball inside in PO, playing Calathes hell or high water it wasn't the same (not saying that Jokubaitis was ready for PO, but he definitely had great regular season as a youngster). If Barsa won't get (or develop) dominant offensive guards, they won't do it.

There was a rumor that Barsa and Calathes could split ways voluntary, and Calathes would go to Fener

Great if Satoransky and Vesely in.

I would like to see Calathes in Fener. After so many years first pass pg would be great. He is not great perimeter shooter but who cares if coach knows to use him. Problem is that we don't have a coach yet:D

In my vision of basketball pg is last person on the court who need to shoot. SG, SF, PF, stretch center are more important in that part of the game then pg. I like Calathes and ready for his low percentage already as long as he deliver around 8 assists per game:D

I remember last final and how Efes was lucky that he was injured. With him healthy who knows what could happen at the end

They were a mess before Pesic, who did a solid job in restoring them to playoff contention.

That's partially true. But even with Pesic Barsa was very unreliable and he couldn't bring them to final 4.

There was a good chance that Pesic would have gotten Barca to the Final 4 in 2020 if that season had finished. Still, Saras has overall done a good job. Being without Higgins for so long hurt the team and he didn't have enough game time before the F4.
