B.League (Japan Pro Basketball League)

  • Thread starter Thread starter The_Big_Cat2
  • Start date Start date
Aj edu leading the league in blocks with 1.7 followed by kai with 1.4 bpg

currently kai has 1 pt 5 rebounds and 2 assists

meanwhile hawkinson has 27 pts 10 rebounds 2 assists and 2 blocks

kai and edu guarding each other.. both impacting the game on their own ways.. edu with less points but impacting on other departments.

Considering it is a sprained ankle, 2 weeks recovery time is enough. We still have 2 weeks from now until the NZ game. Kai won't be 100% tough, also pretty sure he won't be able to join the practice.

It would depend on the degree of the sprain. Meron naman kasing sprain which would be healed in 4 to 6 days. Hope this one is just a minor sprain that wud sideline Kai in no more than 6 days

I think it is not that severe. He is already on the bench now and looks okay. Maybe it's just that thing we called tapilok. Good thing he can stand on his own already.

AJ's lateral is kinda good for a bigman. He can easily man up that Koshigaya guard. He looks agile and moving comfortably compare to how Kai moves against guards.

walks fine after the game.. he’ll be fine on weekend games for them

Yeah, AJ has the laterals & the quickness to chase even the guards & wingmen in the perimeter & stay in front of them & he is a competent interior defender or rim protector as well. That is why he's considered the best defensive big man of Gilas. AJ's averaged points at Nagasaki Velca isn't that eye-popping but that's becoz he is a mere role player there & isn't given enough latitude on offense becoz of the presence of scoring word imports. At Gilas, it looks like AJ is given some freedom in offense. He has license to take those medium range jumpers & even 3-pt shots if he is open. AJ is a better offensive player than what he is showing at Nagasaki Velca.

I think AJ registered pretty decent stats playing for his former B-league team last season. I think he averaged double figures in points last season. His former team though sucked.

Guys, isn't just normal or common for a 7-foot Asian player (with no Afro genes) to get blown by 6-foot-4/6-foot-5 world import wingmen? Would a prime Hamed Haddadi, or a Wang Zhizhi, or a Menke Bateer be able to chase & stay in front with the likes of Justin Brownlee or RHJ in the perimeter?

AJ Edu is able to do defend those world import wingmen in the B-league in the perimeter, but AJ is no 7 footer (he's 6-foot-10) & he has the Afro genes which makes him mobile & athletic.

At that age, sometimes it takes just a minute and you'd be good to go. Guys tweak their ankles during games all the time and still keep playing. Sure we're talking about a cautious 7-foot Kai, but the lightest sprains in general can last only for a few seconds depending on your pain tolerance.
