B.League (Japan Pro Basketball League)

I wonder if he can produce these numbers in a winning team. Seems like half of his points are from garbage time where the game is decided already. The rebounding is impressive though.

Being a good player in a bad team is better than being not good at all.
His past games with different teams says he can produce even in competitive games. The thing with Kai though, he is struggling with consistency. You tune into one of his games and you’d never know which Kai would show up.

I hope Dwight Ramos' injury isn't any serious & would only sideline him for a few days. The 2nd window qualifiers for the 2025 Asia Cup is weeks away & we would need a healthy Dwight in Gilas uniform.

seems like Edu is healthy for that window as well, interesting to see Tim use Edu and Kai at the same time, I really really wish though that he would give Schonny a chance. Newsome didnt have the best conference and so is CJ.

Heading and Abando are also available.

Amos too.

I don't know if coach Tim Cone has any intention of adding a Jordan Heading to the current Gilas pool. Heading did well for Strong Group team in both the 2024 Dubai International Basketball tournament & the 2024 William Jones Cup. Heading could be the best shooter in Gilas uniform if he is integrated to the current Gilas pool/team. The only downside about Heading is that no B-league team signed him up for the 2024-2025 B-league season.

I just realized that the collegiate boys (mostly KQ) are unavailable so either Abando or Heading might have a chance.

Just as long as the SBP realized this before you, we're good... but they should have known this as early as 7 months ago that La Salle has a game at San Juan the day before Gilas plays New Zealand at MoA and another game at San Juan maybe five and a half hours tops before the HK game.

For that matter, the Commisioners Cup starts just 3 days after the HK game. Gilas will win without KQ against HK, but maybe they do need someone else to play the two and backup Brownlee at the three against New Zealand if Ramos won't be ready. I'm assuming there wouldn't be a problem with the other B.League Gilas players.

Like I said in other threads/posts, Gilas is lucky that its really just New Zealand they have to deal with as far as potential scheduling clusterfucks for now. But once the FIBA Asia Cup is done and World Cup Qualifiers kick in, it'll be different layers of scheduling problems to deal with.

back to bleague topic, geo chiu has been playing more than 20 mpg. doesn't have eye-popping stats and i haven't watched any of his games but he must be doing well on the court for their coach to trust him with those minutes. small sample size but that's the most playing time a homegrown big got on their 1st bleague season, more than kai, balti, slaughter, carino.

Geo Chiu is playing in the B-league div. 1 team & not div. 2, right?
That's really surprising for a player of Geo's caliber to get 20 mins. per game so far. He must be doing things right as a role player. Eh kung sina Justin Baltazar & Carl Tamayo nga didn't get enough minutes eh in their respective B-league teams eh.

Of course we should be happy about the playing time Geo is getting.

In his highlights, Geo Chiu looks agile - yes, WAY agile than Greg. It looks like that he can also defend.

After two good games, the bad Sotto decided to show up. At least in this first half of Alphas vs Shimane.

Kai just needs to fight for those offensive rebounds, he can't just let his teammates shoot the ball then watch the ball if it will go or not.
