Nobody could do those moves - spin, pivot, better than Alvin Patrimonio. I say pag nagkasabay si Alvin & Junmar Fajardo, a 6-foot-6 Alvin Patrimonio would easily take a 6-10 Junmar Fajardo to school.

I think Alvin's biggest asset aside from his skills was that he never get intimidated by his defenders even if they were 3 to 4 inches taller than him. At ang lakas ng shooting power ni Alvin. Sureball talaga mga tira nya sa ilalim or from short range to mid-range.

Alvin Patrimonio still averaged 16.7 ppg, 6 rpg and 3 apg when the Fil-Americans and Fil-Ams arrived in 1999. He adjusted playing the small forward position. It sucks he retired in 2004 due to knee injuries.

It's illuminating that one of the players in our GOAT conversation was a 6'3-6'4 power forward.

I remember there were three players in that Kaypee commercial: Patrimonio, Paras and Magsanoc(?). If I'm not mistaken, the comercial ended up with something like, "put yourself in their shoes."

Kaypee models during that time were Patrimonio, Mon Fernandez & Hector Calma.

While Adidas models were Jolas, Elmer Cabahug, Ronnie Magsanoc, Jerry Codinera & Benjie Paras.

Jolas, Paras & company were described by Adidas advertisement as "the future of Philippine basketball"... "put yourself in their shoes".

A 34 years old Alvin Patrimonio vs. a 25/26 years old Eric Menk Menk was the 2000's version of Alvin.

it was fun watching patrimonio school us ncaa guards at the post. iirc he started as a small forward for the centennial team and when they were playing tuneups against us ncaa teams they sent guards/wings to defend him and boy he feasted on offense lol
