here we can vote for best nba european of last 75 years and 2 lithuanians made 20 players shortlist.

i would rank those 20 players like this : best europe players of

90s Sabonis,Petrovic,Kukoc,Marciulionis,Shrempf,Divac,Radja

00s Nowitzky,P.Gasol,Parker,Stojakovic,Turkoglu,Okur

10s M.Gasol,G.Dragic,Diaw,

20s Giannis,Doncic,Jokic,Gobert

Okur,Diaw,Radja i think shouldnt be on this top 20 list. Kirilenko is more worthy . I somebody else from 10s who im forgetting .

What Diaw do on the list? :) This is funny. Average/solid NBA dude, that's all. No individual awards in FIBA either basically. This is BS. Kirilenko, Rubio, Ilgauskas, R. Smith, Porzingis, D. Sabonis, Noah, Vukcevic J. Valanciunas are definitely better than him (going deeper such players both Bogdanovic dudes, Batum, Galinarri and many others are on the same tier). Let alone non NBA dudes as Bodiroga, Navarro, Galis, Cosic and so on. Noah is completely out of hand :)

Okur, Radja are questionable also. Okur at least was an ALL STAR.

Objective rank should be overall how history is should be ranked only best 4-5 players from each decade.

We cant compare 90s european nba numbers to 20s european nba numbers.

In 90s only best of best like 10-15 players could make and play in nba

In 20s like 100+players from 400+ nba players are foreigners this season.

By stats like 14 of 20 europeands would be from 2015 thats not right. Its way easier now for european (especially bigs) in todays nba than it was in 90s any position players.

From Okur,Radja,Diaw i consider Diaw better of those 3 as players, not as nba career but simply if can choose one player to play for my country im taking Diaw he was winner basketball player.

But yeah neither of those 3 shouldnt be on top 20 european list.

Not bigger winner than some Kleiza, or Khryapa, Printezis. What so ever none of these should even feel the smell of top 20 GOATS...

Kleiza was good only 5 years streach, Diaw was good atleats 10 years.

Im sorry im taking Diaw over Kryapa or Printezis to my NT without even thinking.

Fat Diaw version :) was still athletic enough he was guarding peak Lebron in nba finals. Thats says something. Boris had pg basketball iq only in PF body.

He wasnt fast,he wasnt good shooter, but extremely smart and very good passer and felt where to be on the floor.

I would love to see how Kleiza,Kryapa or Printezis would guard peak monster Lebron of 2013 :)

Kirilenko is the king of super glue guy, primarily defensive minded. He's European Pipen. Diaw maybe next.

If I had to build my team around prime Kleiza or around prime Diaw? It would be a tough question. Still Diaw because he brings things at both ends, but he can't be true go-to-guy offensively as Kleiza was in 2010. Sometimes sheer offense sparkles more than all around presence, sometimes not.

Only eleven including Stanislovas Stonkus who's not exactly a household name in most places?

My first three alternates would be Ramunas Šiškauskas, Robertas Javtokas and Mantas Kalnietis.

:)

Lithuanians in post WWII Soviet NTs

Untitled.jpg

In 1947 Butautas played only one, first game, probably got injured

In early years rosters were 14 players long, so in 1947 other 3 Lithuanians were 12-14th players

If krepsinioideja.lt is right about positions, then 1st 50 years is pretty easy

1922-1972
Lubinas
Stonkus
Butautas
Paulauskas
Petkevicius

unlike 2nd half

1972-2022
Sabonis
Kleiza
Karnisovas
Marciulionis
Jasikevicius

Everybody putting Karnisovas and Kleiza as surely better players than Stombergas and Siskauskas in almost all list.

For me Karnisovas/Kleiza/Stombergas/Siskauskas is very debatable topic.

All of them were fantastic offensive players. Siskauskas by far was best defender.

Siska was defending best players both in 2000 or 2003 or 2007. It went from Bodiroga in 2000 to Parker in 2003 to Diamantidis in 2007 and also averaging like 13-15pts per game.

Siskauskas two way player wouldnt be last pick by me from those 4 elite lithuanian wings if i want to win playoofs games.

That's why picking only five players from the last fifty years is completely inadequate. Role players are critical on any team.

So while picking just five from the first fifty years is acceptable since pickings were relatively slim in that period, twelve must be picked for the second fifty years (plus any coach would like three alternates in case of injury during lengthy seven game series).

:(

I'd add Jovaisa to that list

I made 4 more last-50 lists, got tired thinking which one makes more sense and posted first
