from the rough translation of turkish sport sites.. i was told that Turkey will use young players mostly, and that Kutluay probably wont play, and also Pekker has some health problems..

is that true ??

i understand that Turkey squad is young anyways.. but i guess giving major minutes to Semih Erden, Akyol and others would be good for the development...

now i also read that Ilyasova maybe be rested, and also Erdogan...

Yep, Ibo is out (probably for the rest of the tournament), he has been playing with a swollen ankle since the game against Australia. He couldn't even walk after the Slovenia game. Kaya is shaky also. So we probably are going for our junior line up: Hakan-Cenk-Ersan-Semih-..... <--- avr. age 19.5 years.

what does these games give? olmpics qualifying etc.?

Nope, only the Gold medalists qualify for the Olympics.

I think it has more to do with the FIBA rankings that these games are played. So they still count for something.

2nd quarter was much better for Lithuania. 27 - 23 at half time, +4 to Liths. Turks managed to score only 4 pts in 2 nd. Here we must give a credit to Liths defence. It seems like Turks can score only from 3 pt line, and then they miss them, they look confused and messed up.

Yeah 2nd qtr a lot better and starting to play some offence and shots falling. Turks missed a few unlucky ones though as well and it doesnt seem like anything could drop for them scoring only 4pts for the qtr.

LTU-TUR 48-40 3 qtr time.

Erdogan on 3 fouls did not play much.

Looked like a dunk from Kystof went in and bounced out off a player and not counted. Would like to see that one a bit closer again..

Do we want to win this???

WTF??? Time to go and not playing man-man? Letting them down the court for the easy lay-up./...

Game aint over till its over...Sirieka you gotta go.

I HATE MY TEAM AND COACH!

That was the worst display of basketball that I have ever seen in my life.

12pts up 2 minutes to go...what does Sirieka do NOTHING................

I saw Tel Aviv 2004 (Maccabi - Žalgiris) happening again.

I was calm during the game with Spain, the opponents were so much stronger. But letting that 10 points difference evaporate in the last minute and getting blown off the court in the overtime - what the hell was that?

The worst Lithuanian team since 2001. It's painful to watch them. All the decent work through the game was crossed out by the last minute horrible sequence - just like that.

I guess I'd better stop writing... Much "stronger" words are turning inside my head right now, and my English vocabulary might be too limited to express them. :D

it is not what liths did, it is what we did. We won the game.

We are all proud of our 12 Giant Men! What a game!

Lithuania-Turkey- 55-45.
Lithuania will seek revenge here and they only lost in a close game in the preliminaries.

Germany-France: 55-45.
Dirk will be unstoppable. France has been disappointing this WC

5th-6th spot: Lithuania vs. Germany: 51-49
Can we stop Dirk? We struggled against Gasol but Spain had also many other players. Germany does have this depth. Close game but we win.

7th-8th spot: Turkey-France: 55-45
Turkey will bounce back.

guess what? you were wrong.

well I guess the one who talks at the end is important; like Kurtoğlu, Arslan, Ilyasova and Erdoğan... :p

Happy birthday once again! It was a gift to you from our NT, enjoy. :D

yeah yeah, 2 gifts in one tournament.

you liths are very generous people :p

I didn't see Turkey - Lithuania game :o , but I saw Ender Arslan scored 18 points and had 5 assists. How was he? :)

Let's not be overzealous and disrespectful, please.

It was a mutual offerings game, in M. Murathanoglu's words. Liths could not finish the game after they slapped us hard. We came back and this time we didn't allow Liths to awake, there was no time anyway.

Our come back was really inspirational, and yes, YYY, thanks, it was a great gift :)
