Mac Belo is on a sabbatical leave.

Meralco gives him the space he needs.

Guy will just soul search hoping to find his game back.

His confidence as a player is on an all time low.

Let’s see where his fate brings him after his contract expires. He is a free agent next year.

Robert Bolick might be forced to return to Northport and finish this conference, just so that he can secure a letter of clearance from the PBA.

However, it is yet to be seen if his contract offer in Taiwan ?will wait for him?.

Robert Bolick did not secure a clearance from Northport/PBA/SBP and needs to finish the season as this tweet implies.

Dont think Ayo can, maybe as a consultant but being NT coach requires alot of politics which for Ayo sadly has burned too many bridges.

maybe because Arana is not Converge?s focal point of offense while Fajardo is SMB?s main weapon and is rode to death like seabiscuit by then Coach Leo

Yes he is not JF that can carry a team. More so that he needs a outside shoot. Why hasn't Ayo developing that aspect of his game.

Hudson out, RHJ in for TnT. Despite their success at 4-1, TnT still chose to address the gaping hole at the 4. Let’s see if this clicks. RHJ does not have a reliable 3 but he is an imposing physical presence and should be a matchup problem for most teams.

Teams can also do that with Arana. Why hasn't Ayo make him shoot from 3.

Yeah, Ayo should teach Arana to defend the PnR. If we wanted June Mar to improve his PnR defense (or attack his PnR defense), we should do that even more with Arana.

In fact, Arana, being only 6'7", should be held to an even higher standard than June Mar insofar as PnR and switch defense is concerned.

Everyone is loving the ex NBA imports but the question is, why aren't they playing in leagues that pay more? Just curious. LOL

roger pogoy scored 40 points and making a case for himself as one of the best combo guard in the pba this season.

maybe because almost all of the leagues are in midseason and there are no offers? or they’re that washed up that they ended up playing here. Like Mario Chalmers playing for the valientes

I doubt that Arana is even 6'7. He is closer to 6'6 in my opinion.

anyway are teams changing imports or just following the BAD template of placing imports in the injured/reserved list

I can see Coach Aldin Ayo as the next Coach of our national team.

Eros Villanueva wrote an article on how Converge limited June Mar's effectiveness on both ends: tbti.me/s22ixo

On defense, limit June Mar's touches, take seconds off the shot clock, and make others beat you. On offense, target June Mar in transition and in PnR.

He did make a point that not everybody has the personnel to punish SMB on both ends.

"But as obvious as his weakness sounds, exploiting it over and over again is easier said than done; great players, coaches and teams often find a way to alleviate the blow and overcome the hump, which is how Fajardo, hands down the most dominant PBA player of all time, and former head coach Leo Austria have won nine titles together in the first place.

Additionally, teams don’t always have the manpower and the consistency to press on the hurt on both ends of the floor. Some teams can make Fajardo move his feet on defense then fail to contain him in the post on the other end. It’s the inverse for others – they’re capable of making Fajardo work thrice as hard for his touches, but they don’t have the juice on offense to threaten him enough on the other end."

You need the plan, but also the personnel to do it. On offense, players who could make pullup shots off the PnR. On defense, the big bodies to guard him in the post.

Yeah, he is 6'6" without shoes.

Arana is 6'6 without shoes and 6'8.5 wingspan. In comparison Erram is 6'7-3/8 with 6'10 wingspan

Calma has 6'7 wingspan. Ambohot was a no show since he was in the NCAA finals.

So, that should have been a bigger motive for him to work on his mobility and pick and roll defense.

Teams have been abusing JF this conf. I dont think he is getting the calls he usually gets. Against NP he had a couple of early fouls on Calma. Calls that wouldnt be called a couple of years ago. I dont know why this is happening only now. Because I guarantee you he was even slower in his prime. SMB wouldnt have 5 AFCs if he got the whistles he got in the NP game.

They were paid here handsomely with only little months of stay, plus impression to the foreign scouts to make it to the bigger leagues.... PBA still atleast top 5 leagues in Asia...
