47th PBA Season (Philippine Cup, Commissioner’s Cup & Governor’s Cup)

Yeah this doesnt make sense. Arana is a good defender. Sangalang is a worse rim protector. Ayo likes a fast pace. Sangalang will just bog him down. Unless its the Boss's call

Agree. Plus you gotta consider their age. One?s going up while the other is going down.

I personally believe Arana has a higher upside that he?d surpass the peak Sangalang had.

That's why if we want a two-import setup, the PBA need to add more teams.

But still, we don't have enough players who are either too good to be displaced at the 5 (Japeth, CStand, June Mar, Chua, Arana) or who are good enough but can be moved to or play the 4 (Mo, Sangalang, Troy, maybe Erram and Almazan). Neither do we have enough starting-caliber or promising 196cm+ wings like Malonzo, Oftana, Navarro, Arvin, Gabe, and Gray. And not every team has those assets too.

PBA teams (and Philippine teams in general) lack in one or more of the following areas: 196cm+ wings, 199cm+ switchable forwards and bigs, and rim protection. Imports would greatly help solve these problems.

In addition, having Ange Kouame, Terrence Jones, or Prince Ibeh-type foreigners might force developers and coaches to change how they develop 194-201cm young players. Either play wing or 4, or be a backup if you wanna make it big in the PBA.
I am all for having more imports, if the ultimate goal is improving the level of play. The Serie A (Italy) allows as many as 5 foreign players and their league is one of the toughest in the whole world. The displaced players are simply relegated to Serie B.

Premise is, only the best keep their spots. But I wouldn't want the Navarro/Oftana/Gabe types, the Malonzo types, and the Tamayo/Mason/Balti types to be displaced either. There has to be a balance between increasing the level of play and development. Maybe I'll have to watch for the UAAP muna, since that (and other collegiate and HS leagues) the first step, or one of the earlier steps, to develop players.

When you said Serie A and Serie B, I think of football. Hahahahahahaha.

Sir, I think the ideal setup for this fantasy proposal(for now) of yours is to allow our Naturalized guys like Douthit, Blatche, Brownlee and those deserving FSA if the propose revision becomes a reality based on some very reliable insider who’ve seen how successful that 2022 Commissioner Cup and those grand daddy are now contemplating some international flavor in the league moving forward.

Did anyone ever say Yuta and Rui played in Bleague?

Everything has its pros and cons. With that many teams the B league is better off with more imports.

Just making sure that we are talking about BLeague players. The thing is why the locals are not improving unlike leagues with multiple imports. Even KBL is not also advancing in their development with 2 imports system, or Middle east teams.

Antonio Hester to replace Eric McCree

Hester previously suited up for Terrafirma Dyip in the same conference last season, and is playing for the Zamboanga Valientes in the Asean Basketball League (ABL).

But the Valientes were generous to release Hester, who is currently in Malaysia with the team.

SPIN.ph learned Hester is set to fly back to Manila this week and start practicing with the Hotshots as replacement for Eric McCree.

Magnolia went 0-2 with McCree going to its game against undefeated San Miguel on Sunday.

That's an all-athletic 5 right there.
Then imagine coming off the bench are the likes of Pringle, Tenorio, Standhardinger.
Wala kang itulak-kabigin sa mga players na yan.

This is (and should be) a model Philippine team. Tall, athletic, and versatile wings from 2, 3, and 4, a rim protector in Japeth, a versatile big in CStand, a do-it-all 6'1" guard in Scottie, and other players who can fill roles like LA, Pinto, Pringle, and Aljon.

Robert Bolick might be forced to return to Northport and finish this conference, just so that he can secure a letter of clearance from the PBA.

However, it is yet to be seen if his contract offer in Taiwan “will wait for him”.

Jeremiah Gray's breakout game

any chance for the fiba exemption of Gray?
A Gilas core 5 of Iskati,Gray,Malonzo,Brownlee and Kai for the next 3 years sounds cool as a Ginebra fan lol
But seriously if you take a good look at the top commercial teams of Iran & Lebanon, they have multiple national team mainstays thus making chemistry a non issue during fiba games
