Being out of action for 4 to 6 weeks has a very significant effect on a player's conditioning that it would really take a considerable amount of time be4 a player would be back into close to 100% competitive form.

Its not like 1 or 2 weeks after being out of action for 4 to 6 weeks eh a player would be around 90% competitive form na sya.

It’s a throat injury. Not ACL or fracture.

So?

Does that mean Junmar can workout or play basketball while recovering from that injury?

he can't eat solid food for a long time, which will affect his physical condition. He's currently on a liquid diet. Energy will be a big issue

But he need to condition himself first before clear to play... No way he can join by that such faster... Throat injury is minor but need to follow doctors' order when he should join his team's practice...

Exactly my point. Its not like 7 days after getting surgery with that throat injury eh he can go back to the gym or play basketball right away.

Look at Ange Kouame, he was sidelined for about 2 months becoz of an ACL injury (partial tear if I'm not mistaken), yet about one month since he has gotten back to gym & play basketball, he is still not a 100% fit.

Liquid diet is no joke. You'd feel like throwing up after a while. It's just not the same. Especially for a big guy like him who has a lot of nutritional requirements

It means he won?t be out of condition compared to an ACL.

Yes, but it would still take sometime before he gets back to say at least 90% playing condition. Let's say Junmar will be sidelined for a month. It would take about 3 more weeks after that before he gets back to top playing form. Which means only one thing - Junmar won't make it in time for the 5th window.

Especially for a professional basketball player who has a very demanding nourishment needs.

Try doing it (liquid or soft diet with no rice) to a Beau Belga. Baka 5 days pa lang masisira na ang ulo ni Belga:cool:

I wouldn't be too sure about that.

Something tells me he'll still be included in the roster as a reserve player when really needed.

4 weeks is just an estimate because the SMB management doesn't want to take risks and force him to play.

reminds me of TNT players and the drama regarding their diet plan under then consultant Dickel,

I dunno if it's true but I used to read here that he really loves rice.

Maybe Junmar loves to eat rice, just like most homegrown Pinoys do. But I think Junmar doesn't come close to loving rice as much as the glutton Beau Belga does.;)

This I say, SMB without Junmar is still better talent-wise than either Northport & Converge. Yet both Northport & Converge put up good challenges vs. Bay Area Dragons while Leo Austria's SMB was easily got massacred by the Dragons. This goes to show how shitty Austria's coaching is. He won several championships with SMB only becoz he has a super souped up roster.

Just like Phil Jackson right? Pop and Kerr? When they don't have a top 5 player in their line up thwy couldn't make the playoffs or second round?

"Marcial made it clear the 26-year old forward out of San Beda is not being summoned, but said he will give Tolentino both a warning for his 'behavior in recent NorthPort games' and words of advice for his career moving forward."

Maybe Marcial told Arvin Tolentino to not even entertain the thought of leaving the PBA to play pro ball in Japan of korea.

^ ^ ^ ^ ^

Terrafirma coach Johnidel Cardel has been doing an outstanding job in so far as Al Chua & SMC big bosses are concerned.

The more Perapirma & Northport suck, the better for SMC teams.

the PBA sister & farm teams are a disgrace as a whole. only RoS & Converge are the real independent teams in there, and hopefully whoever buys phoenix. though i have a feeling somebody aligned to either smb or mvp's gonna buy phoenix to add to their farm teams collection
