47th PBA Season (Philippine Cup, Commissioner’s Cup & Governor’s Cup)

I looked up which PBA offenses since 2019 had an offensive rating of 110 and above, and here's what I found:

2019 Governors’ Cup: Ginebra (112.7), TNT (111.6) MERALCO (110.5)
2020 All-Filipino Cup: NLEX (110.2)
2022 Governors’ Cup: Magnolia (114.5), Ginebra (112.3)
2022 All-Filipino Cup: SMB (111.3)

In three completed import conferences since 2019, we’ve had five 110+ offenses, and only one (2019 Commissioner's Cup) did not have a single 110+ offense. In four All-Filipino tournaments in that same span, we’ve had two.

Small sample size, but maybe the imports help the offenses in a big way?

This conference will test the question of whether imports can impact team offenses in a big way positively.

Northport just showed you the blueprint

1 - Find a scorer who can go toe to toe with Powell

2 - Hope your best defensive anchor or import doesn't get into foul trouble

I think Ginebra will beat this team easy

It will be a different ball game come the big dogs, because bay area dragons have 2 imports. The 6'10 import was declared to play the last 4 big teams - smc, tnt, ginebra and meralco, i think. So it will be a different dynamic. After that, if bay area reaches the playoffs, they can start to choose which import to play per game.
So lets see how the big teams will fare against a taller dragons by that time.

like what i posted in another thread, scrap the third conference and make the 2nd conference as an open tournament with 6 guest teams from other asian countries, only the top 6 teams of the first conference will be eligible to join the tournament, then the bottom 6 let them have their own tournament with the top 2 team of D League its like a division b tournament

I like this pero sana 8 + 4 invited international teams.
Then yung 4 lower rung pba teams will play against top 4 d-league and top 4 mpbl teams for seem like a div. 2 team competition.

These two competition is a good replacement format for the commissioner's cup.

PBA will be happy for longer and wider exposure and the dleague and mpbl will be happy to be playing against true pba teams.

The question will you watch the game live

Pba is ran like a elite rich club but need to keep up with the times the top businesses in the countyr are competitors of each other Metro pacific, SMC Ayala.. SM Gokongwei's COmsunji's if they cant convince them to join league the disparity will be big and pba will be come a feeder league to the elite Asian teams (that isnt a bad thing if pba embrace it and find a way to move forward)

Which teams wohld you love to watch

If that happens, i've watch smb because i am a fan of abay, but since ive seen northport team, it would be interesting to watch them as well. Ofcourse sa mpbl, i would watched sarangani as coach kyt is playing there hehehehe

I only watch playoffs live to much hassel to go to arena and 4 hrs to sit for basketball and eating expensive food. At home much more practical.
You need to watch all games to make your setup work. It cant be just 3 teams

Nah! My money won't change stuff. Unless other people like you would also be willing to watch live.

Magnolia’s import Nick Rakocevic had impressive 1st half with 28 points and 16 rebounds.

With the way Munzon is playing, he will never be harvested. What's wrong with him?

baligtad, I though the ROS-BGSM game will be a dogfight, ROS up by 25 with ten mins left in the game, that Malonzo trade messed up BGSM's rotation and chemistry

Well the gins will be better eventually
