Be Realistic!!

Be Realistic!!

I am realistic... and the reality of the philippine Nt#s achievements were all real...

what am i saying????

your NT may be the best in asia nowadays...but look guys.... does this best team you are considering did surpass the achievements of our NT???

the answer is a BIG NO.

if you are talking about reality... who should be realistic here???

the so called ~best teams in asia today haven#t proven anything yet in the international basketbal arena...

so who should be realistic???

when time comes that you have surpassed the philippine nt#s achievements in international basketbal, that would only be the time that you can say that our achievements in basketball were all part of the past... but as long as these so called best teams in asia today remains the least in the world basketball competions... YOU HAVE NOTHING TO BE PROUD OF!!!!

Tell youe NT's to prove themselves first in the international basketball arena and i will forget everything about philippine NT's achievements of the past.

GOOD LUCK.

I want to change the thread's question:

the question is: which Asian country will qualify in the coming 2008 Beijing
Olympics?

Make your decision and why you choose this team ??

I know i would be bias to say it would be philippines... but allow me to support my answer...

1. The teams composition - Philippine NT rosters except for center positions can play various positions at the same time... which could make the team flexible and taht would mean a good adjust mean can be done easily under any circumstances and as the need arises.
2. Preparations - before... we used to send teams with 2-4 weeks preparations only...the asean basketball held in beijing in 1990 now.. i guess this is the
3. We have a Heart of a true champion - we have been proven our worth as a champion not only in asia but also in World Chamionship and Olympics. This is not uncommon to us anymore...

the mission of the present philippine team is to restore the lost glory of the coutry in basketball... and they are aout there to do all the best for this mission...

The Top 4 Teams in Asia (NT strengths & weaknesses)

we had little success in the 90's only. the best finish during that decade was the silver medal in the 1990 Asian Games.

FYI, we won the 1985 Asian Championship as well as 1973, 1967, 1963, and 1960.

i could go on and on with the long list of achievements by the Philippines just to prove my point, but it's all in the past.

the important thing is we love the sport as much as everyone else and we are happy very that we are sending a strong team now unlike in the recent past.

I am sorry to disagree. This satement is very wrong. As I have said, the philippines' achievements in international basketball were all part of the past, yes but the point is if we were able to be on top as our history shows... we can make it happen again. We have proven it already. And these teams from china, japan, s.korea are yet to prove their might in international basketball.

Tha point is... we already excel in this competition internationally... and you can't simply brush off that achievements. Professionals and all basketball experts acknowledge these achievements. It shows the quality of basketball we have offered in this part of the world.

As i have said... let this powerhouse china prove its prowess first in international basketball before we can say that they are the best team in asia. Otherwise all these claims are just fictions and dreams which has proven NOTHING yet.

Our team had proven already. What about yours?

hahaha... you made me laugh man... i am wondering if you really are a basketball fan at all... to say that the philippines hasn't played internationally in 50 years.... do you surf the net???

Lebanon played out NT in 2006 before proceeding to Japan for the WOrld Championship. The result: they lost to our NT.

Qatar: How many times we have beaten this team??? can't remember anymore.

S.Korea: They have beaten us in several occasions. Same us we have beaten them more than they have beaten us....

In previous internationally competitions, especially asian games, we assemble out NT to represent in this competions in 2 weeks time only. Memeber of Philippine NT are all playing from different ball clubs in the philippines. that menas that they are not playing as a team till they are assembled for this competition. The result??? it shows... we lost... but this time... we have made a lot of preparations... and this time we will be out there to play basketball like we used to play before, It means being a CHAMPION.

alright, stop this non-sense argument. I am against this kind of power rankings or whatever. you know guys, the only way to solve this, is for both teams to play each other or in a tournament. Phil team defeated Lebanon twice, with only a ragtag team, but for me, even if its a win, that's not enough. A tournament is very different from an exhibition game. you see, tournament has some factors in it, mostly conditioning. As for Lebanon, even if you guys went to WBC, you shud not brag about it. Remember, RP wasnt able to join the ABC. And based on the exhibition games that both teams played, we're at par, or maybe RP is a lot better. So as for now, lets stop this meaningless mismatching of our teams. Though some of us are really patriotic, and nationalistic, it is still better for us to stop this, inorder for us to prevent being humiliated. alright, where we are again? here's my top3 1.China, 2.RP, Lebanon. :p :D hahaha.. just kidding guys..:D :p just kidding..

Hmmm.... If we were talking about this coming FIBA-Asia Championship. This is my top teams in any order.

China, Lebanon, S. Korea, Philippines

If we were talking about Asia in general then it would be.

1. China
2-4. Lebanon, S. Korea, Philippines.

if we are talking about the ranking of the teams just before the asian championships in japan, phils will definitely be not inlcuded in the top 3... but after the fiba asia championships philippines would definitely be in the top2 or 3 (since china will only field its team b so we still don't know how well we fair against them)... its really awesome that the philippines is considered an underdog... it's great to be an underdog...i remember our local hero manny pacquiao when he took barrera, barrera was 8-1 favorite to win but to his shock, he was knockout by our manny... its great that not many teams are paying attention to our team and have no idea on what our team can bring...i tell u all of u will be shock... philippines is really strong... but of course this will be known in the abc... anyway, to end all this brouhaha, philippines will definitely get the respect of asian teams right after the fiba asian championships...that's a fact!

I don't agree with you dear,In my opinion, south Korea to being on the down grade these years,in 4-5 of asia.so i think top4 should be:

1:china
2:Qatar/Lebanon
3:iron/japen(if they have a great center)
4:south korea

as for the Philippines, they leaves FIBA long years after all,so we don't know your power!i 'd like to watch china B team vs Phlilppines.......

Team Philippines will definitely rock the basketball arena this abc. They shocked the US NCCA Div I teams led by an NBA veteran who played against M. JOrdan.... and the USBL selection team in their recent US training/camp.

This time, team PILIPINAS will bring the house down...

It's really good that other teams are not paying attention to RP team.. it's because we are sending class b & c in international competions... and also philippines were not able to play internationally for 2 years (i guess) because of the banned imposed by FIBA. They think philippines is just a weak team... but lebanon got a taste of what RP team is capable of... considering that lebanon played the RP Team B... not yet the best team...

This time we will be bringing in the very best of RP squad... watch out very carefully...

Why not ask the coaches from each participating team on who's the team to watch this coming ABC?

do you have any idea wwhich name will come out aside from China???

hehehe... i dont want to brag again... try searching the net about interviews of the head coache of other asian teams... especially those who had played the recently formed RP squad... and you should have read the interview of the American coach of Lebanon after playing gainst RP... He dreamed of coaching here in RP... the reason??? ask him... he's willing to give up Lebanon NT just to become a ballclub coach in RP... but no offer for him from any ballclubs in the PBA or any other leagues in the philippines.

Please ask your coaches...and you will know the answers...

Who has any Video of Philippine basketball???and who is the tallest member of Philipine NT???how many cm???
