You just can't help but be amazed at how the Filipinos love their NT, and basketball in general. No matter the thread topic, they manage to turn it into a discussion about what's going on with their NT. :)

tnx....THAT'S WHO WE ARE....

i agree. basketball in India is not popular. they don't have a program about basketball. the people there much choose to play or prefer to play cricket than basketball.:D
I strongly believe India is the "sleeping giant" of Asian basketball. If only the sports authorities realize their potential in basketball, and appoint a foreign coach willing to recruit from the grassroots, then it'll only be a matter of time.

But sadly, that is not the case and in fact, their top player S. Robinson, who's a pretty good and athletic 6'8" forward, got so disgusted w/ the lack of support of his federation that he opted to turn to modelling instead of pursuing his basketball career. :(

Actually, not ALL topics in Asia are concentrated on the Philippines. You guys just ambush most threads and turn it into discussions about your proposed rosters changes, strategy changes, etc.

Yes, it speaks a lot about who you guys are. It's gets annoying and pathetic sometimes. People might think that Filipinos can't understand the concept od thread topics or maybe it's because they just don't know how to place things in their proper places.

There's a thread about the Philippines NT that was specifically put up so that there won't be any hijacking of other threds, yet it doesn't end.

I'm not familiar with the qualifying... you mean the top 2 winners from each group plays in the quarterfinals??

Drawing selection meeting of the Asian championship is scheduled June 6th at THE GRANDPALACE Tokushima.
16 countries are going to divide into 4 each groups of 4 teams. :)
Link to your source (whatever language) please, karim?

Why is it that most Filipino forumers rank their NT among the top 4 yet their own coaches/insiders rank their team as 8 or 9??? :D

it's just like selecting the hottest 12 seats in the current Senate elections. With their best bet on the top 5 spots...;)

Eight countries to send Asian Men's Championship NTs to 2007 Jones Cup
by Chris Wang - Jun 2, 2007

Including host Taiwan, eight countries will send their national teams that will participate in the upcoming Asian Men's Championship to the 2007 William Jones Cup International Tournament, Chinese Taipei Basketball Association (CTBA) said.

South Korea, Qatar, Philippines, Jordan, Lebanon, Iran, Kazakhstan, and Taiwan will place their full national team in the annual tournament, which will be played from July 2 - 10 in Sinjhuang Stadium, Taipei County, (Capacity 7,000), for the final preparation of the Asian Men's Championship, which will take place in Tokushima, Japan from July 28 - August 5.

Japan will send its World University Games men's NT to Taiwan. The Athelete in Action (AIA) team from the U.S. will be coming back to defend its title, CTBA said.

CTBA said it has learned that Philippines NT will be one of the strongest ever as the Philippines did not participate in the previous Asian Championship and Asian Games in Qatar because of domestic dispute. Hundreds of thousands of overseas Filipino workers who currently work in Taiwan will be happy to see their beloved national team to return to Taiwan.
