What is going on with Koufos is a long story. The short version: his coach in the NBA decided that Koufos would play better as a heavy center... as a result he lost his good shooting touch and elasticity (the result of bulking up really quickly). My personal opinion is that Koufos can only be saved if he comes to Europe and works for 2 years with a top European coach (Ivkovic, Obradovic, Mesina, Ivanovic, etc). He had the chance to become a player similar to Gasol but instead they are turning him into a Nesterovic...

2 bad 4 him.
he is monster.
I still remember his domination in youth competitions..

One of the worst threads ever.

Posters from 2 countries with great bball tradition posting like hooligans about a shameful fight.

I wonder why moderators still haven't locked it!!!

yea...because Stojakovic, radmanovic, jaric, vujanic, rakocevic, pavlovic and milicic are idiots.
But we always had better players than greece

they didn't show on the court that they were better...over and out..

That was Yugoslavia son, not Serbia

Do you want me to make a list of USSR achievements
81gfwr9.png

I can't really believe that you are so ignorant...

Go educate yourself and than come here and talk about something...

From 1995. to the end of Yugoslavia, only Serbs played for Yugoslavia, with few Montenegro born players, with most of them refers themselves as Serbs.
FIBA also looks at Serbia as a rightful successor of that Yugoslavia.

And you and USSR, please you gave a good players, sometimes the best of USSR NT, but not closely in same numbers, maybe 3-5, and also you were what a 1% population of USSR, you can't compare that with Yugoslavia(1995.-), not even to Serbian influence on SFRJ(1945.-1991.).

I know that hurts, but you are not the strongest and most traditional basketball force in Europe, you were and you are behind Serbs, and for me you could be counted as 2nd, but if Croats didn't fall apart like that in last 10 years and more, you would be behind them also.

Again Greek objectivity in action:rolleyes: Krstic was doing the right thing trying to stop that monster who was on the some rage maybe cheeseburger rage from killing his good buddy . And Krstic didn't run away Bourousis and other Greek players were pushing him away from the fight Krstic tried to stay involved and he did :):D

i am not judging my friend based on ethnicities here. All I am saying that Fotsis and Kristic were the 2 clearly out of control. as fedfan and i said before:

I have watched all 4 different videos I could find and disagree in everything.Sofo was down trying to pull away Bjelica and punched him only once, while Krstic together with Velickovic were continoually punching him from the start. Then he got angry and turned back at which point Krstic start backing away with speed Flash would admire.

Kristic was hitting sofo even before they went down on the floor. Watch the videos from the beginning looking at Sofo and you will realise that he is no man out of control. I mean bring yourself in his position. I wouldnt stop chasing kristic unless i got my fist into his face.

Fiba aboyt the incident

Fiba aboyt the incident

GENEVA (FIBA) - FIBA unconditionally condemns the violence that occurred during the Final of the Acropolis tournament between Greece and Serbia that was played in Athens, Greece last night.

Such scenes involving players on a basketball court are entirely unacceptable, especially as players are seen as important role models for young fans. They are also ambassadors for basketball on the global stage and they should always be seen to act as such.

Patrick Baumann, the Secretary General of FIBA, said: "I was appalled to see the disgraceful scenes that occurred during the Greece v Serbia game. They were an awful stain on the good name of world basketball. FIBA will take whatever steps are necessary against any individual player found to have been involved in this shocking incident. FIBA will not let this stand.

"FIBA, as the sport's world governing body, is now urgently reviewing last night's game and the circumstances leading to the violence.??FIBA will not be commenting on the actions of any individual player ahead of that review being completed. However, FIBA wishes to make it clear that it will not hesitate from taking the strongest possible action against any individual found to have brought the sport of basketball into disrepute."?

I don't really mind Serb school being #1, but when you say you were a better team than Lithuania in the last decade it's just too funny

How about you look at results from all tournaments, not just the ones that Yugoslavia won at the beginning of the decade.

I'm not saying Lithuania dominated Serbia, but they were better alright.

crap..that means that Krstic will be baned

crap..that means that Krstic will be baned

not necessarily... such a statement was necessary as FIBA had to make its position clear... perhaps he is talking about action that will be pursued after the WC which in that case, Krstic will play..

NOW that is saw the video again it's BLINKY's fault for standing and letting the chair free for Kristic! For me if they punish Kristic, Blinky should be punished as well!:p

You dominated us once in 2003 now you should just zip it you sound silly .

Yeah, you missed something...like the first punch to Fotsis, the thing that started it all(typical Teodosic, punching someone when no one is watching and then trying to avoid the reaction)

@bosio
Tsartsaris' statement was not racist. Poor choice of words but not really racist. The concept was 'why do they give contracts to foreign players not desrving it', referring to Teodosic, not generally to all foreigners
Of course someone could argue that he can't say to Oly whom to bring in, maybe Oly doesn't care about Teodosic character as long as he delivers game-wise and if he misbehaves, there is a Justice System to take care of him
But it is an exaggeration that Tsartsaris is against foreign players in general when in Panathinaikos there are so many foreign players all these years
That's not the racist statement its the fascist statement . He might be member of some fascist nationalist movement, like Nazi skinheads and crap like that I guess . If it wasn't for Serbian coach Obradovic he would be picking apples on some farm. And what about all Serbian players bring the glory to Greek basketball clubs like Pao and Oly ,ungrateful bum.

According to Patrick Bauman (FIBA), players involved will be punished.

PS : Patrick Bauman is german, and Germany will face Serbia in the 1st round.

It is lamentable, that to be a good patriot one must become the enemy of the rest of mankind.
