2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers

as I said

it would be very interesting if FIBA with the sole discretion of the Sec Gen declared AK34 his much awaited exemption

before the year end and those stakeholders are fuly aware of this provisions in FIBA and the decisions they've done to other countries.

in fairness to the Grandpas, remember they've mentioned from a press conference that one of the new innovations they've shared was (hopefully)

starting in S51 is to allow FSA who already played 3 to 4 years in the collegiate level to play in the league in the propose In-Season tournament.

that would be promising if it pushes thru.

personally I do hope whatever beef Grandpa Dean on those FSA will not be carried towards the plan of the PBA.

we have to be aware that he is the de-facto consultant of the league and the Gilas program.

Lol Quinito?, it isnt ryan gregorio on paper for SBP.

Quinito is just there because he gets in touch in la salle and other leagues which his peers in the pba board isnt.

The only thing prevent fsa thing for now is smb..unless they get a nnoruka type of player who can play pf to junmar...

If we get SMB vs TNT in the finals, then we will only have JMF, Perez, and Oftana arriving later in the training camp.

All players from eliminated teams will have a long break because Comm Cup is on the 11th March.

B.League will take a break on Feb 15th.

KBL will have theirs on Feb 19th.

June Mar's the least playable center in the pool (if we don't include Japeth), and CJ is a fringe rotation player.

Oftana is also shit at FIBA.

Iskati, Brownlee, QMB, RJ, Newsome, Troy, 1GDL, and Malonzo (if no offers) will be available to start a mini camp.

OT: Dame Diagne of Indonesia officially granted local status by FIBA and now can play as local in FIBA competitions.. he is also available to play in Japan B league as an Asian local player too.. Also a huge development for Indonesian basketball to be more competitive in international competitions... If PBA supports and allowed Kouame play in the PBA, His status as local will be materialize.. but PBA not supporting his case...

I believe Diagne was a direct recruit from Senegal and sworn-in as an Indonesian citizen before the age of 16. Similar to the practice performed by Qatar on bring players like Nedim Muslic. Hence, he’s local according to FIBA. The one thing I liked about the IBL is that he’s being treated as a local as well.
I think if any of our naturalized players are given exception or local status by the PBA, that will be great!
However, if these naturalized players are to be local, they must adhere to the PBA draft rules and salary expectations as with any other locals.

Actually they have another African dude after Diagne who is also under residency, His name is Serigne Modou Kane.. A 6'10 lanky big man, Who will likely their future big man if he gets the nod as local player.. If these 3 (Diagne, DMX and Kane) pans out and become a very good players, Indonesia doesn't need big man naturalized in future competitions.. They badly need a wing that also can play guard (Ala Goodwin of Qatar) and a scorer.. They are too small in other positions

The Indons are not just doing the copy paste of SBP,they actually went one step ahead of granting citizenship to foreign born before 16,this will be an interesting team in 2 years and how will the Pinoy uninformed basketball fans will react online.

As a fan, of course I wanna see all FSA's get naturalized... but then again we have to understand what these players get out of it and find out why there's genuine opposition to it.

They're not only getting a passport, they'll be able to buy land, enlist in the military, and avail of all the perks that comes with being a Filipino citizen.

Let's take JB for example, he's a pro baller with on a typical PBA import paycheck. He can easily retire earning as much as PHP300K/month post-retirement if he's smart with his money with buying land at the right places (at the right time) and collecting dividends from the right thrift banks (he IS a Philippine Army reservist)... if he goes back to the States, he'll have to work 'til 59 and have to earn almost double what he was earning as a pro player just to claim his personal pension (401K) that would total the same amount as if he stayed here after his playing days. I'd have to AI search how Ivorians and Senegalese retire in Kouame's and Dioif's case, but ultimately it's the same for the Americans. Our country shouldn't just hand out naturalization papers to anyone. Just the ones who genuinely want to be a Filipino and not just because FIBA allows it.

I would encourage the FSAs to date our volleyball players. Genetics for the win!

hahaha, anyway, someone needs to trace all the girls Luka and company partied with in BGC during our hosting of the FIBA World Cup, someone probably got pregnant 2 yrs ago

You would think that very horny volleyball player who has a video scandal all over is a "size matters"kinda gal would have start jumping in with those FSAs.

Boo hoo... all our hoes got were Senegalese from the 2016 OQT squad, if any of them didn't get an abortion... their kids are probably 8 years old by now. We already got a number of half-black kids in the pipeline.

hope their future kid pursues basketball, pwde nang PG yan!

Yeah, but genetics aside... a kid has to be obsessed with the sport. I understand how sports here in general at levels below national is subject to palakasan, the padrino system, and probably a fair amount of dick-sucking for mere participation. Then you get to the genetically-gifted ones, for some reason they're capped at like 6'3 where they have to compete with all the suburban kids on Growee and Cherifer PGM. The pool becomes smaller, but the development process is the same.
