2025 Lithuanian NT

Just saying Jokubaitis had pretty good game and never choked yet. Now he obviously much stronger. And my point is I like Rokas season in Maccabi much more than his recent seasons with PO Barca. And I do think KJ learned more than he would had been playing 6-10min for Barca in EL, including PO. He had all green light, all game in his hands. He has been playing like this all his career thus far. Not happy not seeing Liths in playoffs, but Rokas, KJ, Matas seasons shouldn't be overlooked.

Jokubaitis never choked but also never won playofos games in fiba

Lost 2021 Slovenia PG Doncic dominated
Lost 2022 Spain PG Brown dominated
Lost 2024 Puerturcio PG Alvorado dominated

Its interesting how Lithuania PG who never ale choked but always main persons who eliminated Lithuania NT was opponents pointguards :)

In 2023 the result of the NT wasn't horrible. I think our results are objective. You can't ask Rokas alone to win. But he's a nice piece, one of the keys. When KJ, Rokas, Buzelis will be finishing games 27/28, then ask big wins.

This is a solid observation. I acknowledge Jokubaitis as a serious player from now on but for now he is just a solid piece for a solid team not a problem solver. Actually considering how scarce the PG position is in Europe he is an slightly above average piece.

I dont argue he is bad piece at all. I think Jokubaitis should be nr 1 option in 2025 NT

But dont need to picture Jokubaitis like world beater in 2021-2024 when he lost most of playoofs battles to opponnets PGs who dominated the games when Nt was eliminated.

I didnt felt oh yeah Jokubaitis is controling the tempo, controling the game without him we would lose by 20pts.... in 2021-2024.NT lost most playoofs games by double digits in hopeless way and Jokubaitis still was not ready to be winning floor general in 2021-2024.

That Jokubaitis 2025-2028 he will be way better 100%...but just dont tell me fairy tales about ale 2021-2024 Jokubaitis super version when NT lost all playofs games and he was outplayed by opponnets PGs

Yesterday Valanciunas asked at end of interview about playing in 2025 eurobasket answer was: thank you, goodbye

Jonas is still pissed at that federation tandem.

15min journalist already found some new 2025 deals Balciunas and Pacesas doing with their so called projects .

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eYyX2MpnbYY

In this interview Balciunas keep telling his lies and look at his reaction when he journalist asked relationship between Balciunas and Pacesas at 25:40 mark

We dont need to be body language experts to see how Balciunas is clearly lying and how his body reaction changed :)

Sedekerskis with couple of 24 eff games in ACB, got in shape after injury. He's in prime, Iggy in prime, Rokas arrived. If we would have Sabonis and Buzelis, ir would be pretty nice team even this summer.

Still dreaming that 27 old Sedekerskis one day will wake up with Kleiza or Maciulis alpha character?

Its easily can be 0 nba players in 2025 how ltu nba players is talking interviews right now.

How far NT can go where Jokubaitis,Iggy and Sedekerskis is 3 best players ? again 1/8 stage, panick, meltdown and home ?

No, but Sedekerskis should have his best tournament nevertheless.

WIll he make wide open 3 pointers from PF position ? or again shot not even close like vs Puerturico game?

There are reasons why +- of Sedekerskis is bad both in 2023 and 2024. if he plays near not shooting center.

Not shooting center + Sedekerskis + some Butkevicius or D.Giedraitis god help Jokubaitis and Brazdeikis score vs double teams and their teammates dont punish double teams

Gecas says JV planning to play, just as he mentioned in that famous interview. Would love to see Buzelis coming. And if KJ coming, I'm super thrilled. Domas can rest in that case, be ready for real medal hunt 27/28.

Sedas played well against USA and Serbia. To me it's the key. In PR most players underperformed. Bad preparation and bad coaching. Kazys sucked.

So when your disliked player played 3 good games and 1 bad one he is biggest choker ever?

When your liked player sucked all tournament its coaches fault ? :))

Sedekerskis had the worst +- on entire 2023 roster.Cold stats didnt like his play at all.

Sedekerskis vs Puerturico 13minu 0pts 0reb 0 asisst and -20 biggest on entire team. He was our worst player in puerturico game

His open 3pointer barely even touched the rim and puerturico just left him wide open and went to double team Sabonis and Grigonis.

Sedekerkis in entire 34 game euroleague season made just 20... 3 pointers. Even Butkevicius 27 made shots and Giedraitis 25 made more long shots

Thats why im asking is Sedekerskis ready to make wide open 3pointers or not?

If our starting PF wont make wide open looks goodluck beating anybody good with such clumsy shooting lineups in 2020s.

Baskonia performances of almost all player are a bit misleading. Look at DT and many others and working in a certain system doesnt necessarily mean that mean that it will work also for the NT. One dimensional player like Sedekerskis never contribute very well in the NT. I cant remember even one game he really had a good performance.

Sedekerskis is just a solid role player. Nothing more. But with his physicality and athleticism he matched USA and Serbia. He can bang with big boys. He's a bit streaky, but I hope he will have most consistent tournament. Long preparation is what such guys as Sedas, Sabonis need. They are good once in top shape. Sedas had some amazing strides in EL, being among top 15 most efficient players for months in 23/24. This season up and down duo to injuries, but he seems fine. I want athletic, tough dudes who wouldn't melt against top teams physically.

Shooting at 4 is a problem, but look at Sedas against USA, Serbia. He was like 3/5 or something.

I would play small. Aside Germany and maybe Montenegro, our opponents have trashy frontcourts. I survive with Sedas, Tubelis at 5. Off course, JV still has to get his at least 15min, but I would play tons of small ball. Rokas, Iggy, Buzelis, Radzevicius, Sedekerskis would be my lineup easily.

BTW, Franz says he's not sure about EB. If he's out, we're topping the group.

It was just a vague comment after the last game. He will participate for sure but even if he does not participate Germany is still the better and much deeper team.

Fully packed Lithuania wouldn't be much thinner than Franz minus Germany. To me Franz is 30per of the team, Schroeder the same, and the rest 40 is the rest.

My gut feeling is, we take down Franz less Germany. But yeah he will come likely.

Sabonis,Buzelis is out with 95%.Stop dreaming about them.

With Valanciunas it can go either way after meeting with Pacesas.

I agree with one thing about Sedekerskis. Playing him at C worked for little streaches. He shown in 2023 he is strong enough to defend Vucevic size center.

But if game slows down 5 on 5 and Sedekesrkis at PF position it didnt work neither in 2023 or 2024. According +- stats.

LTU NT 1/8 opponent most likely will be Turkey or Latvia. Unless LTU will win a group, but dont believe in that.

Who gonna defend Sengun? who gonna defend Porzingis and Smitd combination?

vs Latvia going small i think it will be must thing for more than 50% of game.Otherwise they gonna kill us with their shooting.

vs Turkey and Sengun im not sure Sedekerskis will hold on. Vucevic is just brutal force inside,Sedekerskis have no problem in strenght battles

But Sengun have hundred tricks inside and to my suprise he looked like really smart big .Coach will need to put real size to hold him off.

I have a feeling both Sedekerskis and Tubelis will be too short to slow down Sengun lenght.

He loves to play vs smaller players and do not rush when gets his position inside , atleast i got such vibes from watching him in 2025 playoofs.

After watching 2025 Rockets vs Warriors and battle versus Green i have better opinion about Sengun as player than i had 2 weeks ago when barely ever watched Rockets.

He is not some young and dumb at all even at 23. Putting shorter player on him wont work.

Lithuanias team composition is disadvantageous. There is no a stretch four after Kuzminskas retirement. There are too many one dimensional players, too many question marks in terms of reliability, too few of two way glue guys. How do you intend to slow down guys like Schroder or Lo? Did you watch Jokubaitis defense in the Euroleague? I did. There is no way he could stop a Lo let alone still one of the best penetrator in the NBA who is Schroder.

You will probably write something like we have Mariculionis as an answer. We are talking about a 2002 born who is still playing in the NCAA. He was born in March if I am not mistaken. This kid hasnt played one important pro game with being 23 years old. Thats what I am talking about. Forget also about KJ. Even if he comes playing. He would be a help but you wont win decisive games. MB would grow into a leading role even now I would say.

But Germany has the right pieces and even with the absence of Schroder they have a well functioning team. Theis is a difference maker in Monaco, they have stretch five bigs like Voigtmann, the best shooter in Europe with Andreas Obst, a tall SF who can defend and nail threes with Bonga. The only vulnerable spot is still the center position in Germanys team but Theiss always manages to deliver.

Being first would still be great for the LTU NT since there are three outstandingly strong teams which should be avoided but Germany will aim the same goal.

SS, we throw Sedekerskis on Sengun. That's the best way. If Buzelis in, we throw even him likely. But we'll have to double Sengun and risk on streaky Turkeys shooters a bit. Sengun will feel the lack of space as most bigs in Fiba. He will be good, but it's important to double him, he's not that fast with facilitation from double team.

That's why Sedekerskis is important to me. I throw him at 4, 5. Easily.

Games between LTU vs Turkey/Latvia is 50/50 kinda material.

Toruko, we throw D. Giedraitis on Schroeder if we have healthy Dovis. He's elite at it. Marciulionis could be interesting option too.

Germany is great 2 way team, I agree, but without Franz they would lack that transcendent dynamic offense, imo. Don't forget we almost took them down in 2022.

Yeah, Buzelis would already be among the keys likely. Mismatch with his skill, mobility size. Who from Turkey guarding Buzelis? Too long and too explosive. Cedi can't handle him.
