Domantas Sabonis Career in NT in his 20-29 age years


2015 DNP

2016 19min 5,5pts+4,5reb on 37% and 17% shooting

2017 Refused invitation

2019 24min 10,5pts+6,3reb on 48% and 0% shooting

2021 27min 11,8pts+ 8reb on 66% and 0% shooting

2022 29min 12,5pts+7,4reb on 62% and 25% shooting

2023 Refused invitation

2024 26min 12,5pts+9,3reb on 64% and 0% shooting

2025 Refused invitation


As real nba player Sabonis played 4 fiba tournaments and 3 tournament refused to come.


I dont think NT ever had such level world class star and such very average production in NT ever.


Domas always felt like outsider and stranger in NT. Fans never felt he is one of yours and will play through injury and play his heart out.

2023 baby birth,2024 friends wedding,2025 baby birth this doesnt look like man who understand that he main star of the nation and 3 million hearts is expecting something.

NT is not priority for him at all. Yeah if situation will be perfect for him,wife will allow ,maybe i will come and play in some summer i feel such vibes :)

Did I see that correctly? Sabonis wont play in the Eurobasket 25?
 
Today Tubelis came back after injury and had a good game in limited playing time. I still hope Domas changes his mind and will play, but if he's out, it's exactly Tubelis that we should talk about. Pacesas is talking about Biruris, B. Matkevicius talking about Birutis. We are going to play 80s basketball with 2 slow 7 footers? OK, Burutais may make the team if Domas out, but I would see Valanciunas/Tubelis rotation at 5 in the first place.
 
Whats the reason of his abstinence? The son of legendary Arvydas cant say that he is worn out. Off the record I would say that he doesnt see success at the end of the tournament.

Tubelis would make more sense than Birutis in terms of players profile but Birutis is a EL big and Tubelis is a question mark but on the other hand you finally would have a guy who can defend on five.
 
The rumor is that it's because of injuries that he has been having this season and his wife is pregnant, child's coming.

Well, Tubelis is not much of a defender TBH, specially inside, but he's surely the best looking big in perimeter if we compare with him guys like Domas/JV/Birutis/D-Mo/Echodas. Switch all would look the best with him, IMO. But I also would play Sedekerskis some at 5. I think we are not playing small enough.

My 5 position rotation would like like this:

JV 18min, Tubelis 16min, Sedekerskis 6min
 
Bring me Marciulionis, D. Giedraitis, Radzevicius, Buzelis, Sedekerskis line-up and we have very legitimate 2 way line-up. Maybe a bit limited offensively, but it would look nice, IMO.

This lineup wouldnt bring 15 points in a quarter.

Yeah, that's why Buzelis will be gold. Not saying he will necessary be as good as these guys, but still a force defensively.
 
Pacesas had seriuos face on todays podcast no more smiles and acting like boss :) I think some people had a talk with him.

D.Sabonis is out very likely according to federation people.


Now Valanciunas not Pacesas can act like boss because NT need him in 2025

Federation people become way more respectful today towards him.
 
Today federation president asked about Buzelis participation in 2025 and he basically skipped the question and start talking about tickets in Finland.

If Kleiza already met in weekend with everybody they should know the answer. Why they are skipping the answer?

Kurtinaitis called Valanciunas and Sabonis.But didnt talk with Buzelis according what he said.


Something smells not right here. Like Federation people after media scandal and Domas news maybe dont wanna tell truth about Buzelis at same moment to already angry lithuanians fans ?
 
Sabonis basically out, even though they will still talk. JV will play. But what I didn't like the most is that Buzelis question is open. They didn't say, yes, Matas is coming. So Buzelis yet doesn't give an answer. It's something like 'lets wait for the end of the season, i'm all in it now". And damn he is, dropped 28 last night. In last 10 games he's dropping 13,2ppg and 40% threes. He's growing and has star's upside written all over him. I'm afraid that he will choose individual work outs now that he feels he can be big time player already next season for Bulls. But the good thing JV is coming and that increases chances to see Matas and I hope Karnisovas won't be an asshole and won't prevent Matas to play in EB.

Kurtinaitis tried to calm down people a little bit. I also like that federation understands the value of Jakucionis already. Kleiza will visit NBA players and Jakucionis who is in NBA with one leg already. Those 4 is the elite of elite of Lithuanian basketball. Valanciunas slowly fades away as the key, but he still can give one very solid tournament and introduce Matas to the NT hopefully. To me this summer is about whenever Buzelis suits up. This would mean so much for LTU BB regardless how he would look. Some of his huge flashes would give a bi boost for demoralized spirit of our BB. This would give hope. And if somehow Jakucionis plays, it would be just beyond amazing. Like suddenly we have 2 young BB prodigies starting their NT career and they are both players with the ball and can do it all. Like it changes NT radically. Like our upside from 20% jumps to 98%.

Well, we'll wait and see. It would suck if we don't see Sabonis, Buzelis, Jakucionis. We need that taste of extra class cause it's been so rough. We would have to wait for another 2 years and speculate on Matas dedication. That Jakucionis is a NT freak I have no doubt.

Stop dreaming its already clear Sabonis and Jakucionis wont be in 2025. One doesnt want to be,other is top 15 pick such players dont play in summer but is preparing for rookie season.


Buzelis after how Balciunas answer and how he always picture everything from possitive side and that he didnt answer and switched topic about Eurobasket tickets

My guess Buzelis chances to see is under 50% in 2025.


Overall we can see from Domas career in NT. When lithuanian who was born and raised outside lithuanian will never have same dedication to NT.

Domas son of NT patriot but still wasnt enough foreign lifestyle,foreign wife and forget dedication every summer type.


Buzelis wont be dedicated to NT either He will play in olympic summers (like most nba players) and maybe will try some eurobasket once and one world cup. But that he wont be Valanciunas,Kalnietis,Maciulis that was comming every summer,played hurt and playing through their kids births no chance such dedication from foreigner.


Jokubaitis is the key in 2020s decade. He is becoming real pro right now and will be in his peak next 5-6 years as player.

He will be loyal and dedicated to NT every single summer like some Valanciunas or Kalnietis was .Even if he will spent the rest of his career playing outside ltu. He grown up here,as kid he cried and had joy when LTU NT won and lose.Jokubaitis has emotional connection to LTU NT.

You can teach that or you have it or you dont inside.


Foreign Lithuanians dont have that. Thats main reason why average nba player Valanciunas always performed better than nba all star Sabonis.did in NT.

One is fired up and really gives a shit inside ,other just playing like mini tournament and comeback to his american life the next day after tournament
