So it's Pampanga not Batangas as initially reported, will host the SEABA U16 qualifiers.

SEABA Schedule
I think it would be good for our Batang Gilas U-16 team to tune-up with our top high school basketball teams in the country like NU-Nazareth, newly crowned NCAA Jr's. champion Perpetual, St. Benilde & other UAAP high school teams. Yung mga key players nitong mga high school teams eh 17, 18 & even 19 yrs old, hence they would offer good competition to our Batang Gilas U-16 team.
That's already their usual practice, last U18, the team went against FEU college team, back in 2022, the U16 team went against multiple high school teams and even against TnT reserves.
I say they should do what Japan is doing, participating in pocket tournaments against other countries youth team also. Or have a game against pro teams or semi-pro.
I even think participating as guest team in the PBA would, let these kids play against grown men. But I think that's not possible.
It is also good to field them on Sea Games if possible, the PH won't get anything there anyway even if they win with Team A.
There is an issue if the PBA teams will take them seriously. I rather see them against international teams close to their age. I just hope they don't loss their their edge and get disappointed when against taller teams.
If it's true that the team we are sending are all locals then di pa sure ang Pilipinas sa gold. This generation is relatively weaker and the past generations. Thailand's youth team got so many mixed blood playing in their youth leagues. I came across one player that stood out. He's name is Lorenzo Ravazzini. The kid is pretty tall about 6'6 - 6'7. Saw some vids of him dunking in game at 15 years old. We don't have that type of player sa U16 natin if I'm not mistaken aside from the kids from FilAm Nation. I hope CLA is not taking SEABA lightly. Baka ma-embarass tayo sa sarili nating home court.
Tenorio made the trip before Barangay Ginebra returns to action in the Philippine Cup. He also met with Alapag for the first time after being appointed as head coach of Gilas Pilipinas Youth.
Don't be surprised if part of their conversation included the coaching aspect of the game.
- i know little about this kid but a quick check, looks like he lives in Thailand. he was certainly born there, but most of his games are in Thailand. Italy didnt consider him because he isnt playing in Italy. He is Thai-Italian, and there's a reason Italy didn’t even consider him for their U16 team.
compared to Carino, yes he is. compared to Yap.... i'll give this kid the edge.the big difference between this kid and Yap, is this kid looks like he is playing organized ball for some time. Yap, halatang bago pa.The kid is slow and raw, to be honest. All he did were simple dunks, which he wouldn't be able to pull off if he were guarded by someone taller or even just the same height. He was literally being guarded by other Thai players who aren’t as good compared to the usual U16 varsity players here in the Philippines.
The gap between our youth players and those from our Southeast Asian neighbors is much wider than you think. Our grassroots program is definitely better. Filipino kids literally start playing basketball as soon as they can walk and run.
I'm pretty sure this generation is stronger than the last batch that went to the U17 World Cup.
So finally, we have the pool.
Couple of familiar faces with Carino, Cabanero, Delos Reyes, Esomchi, Okebata.
Anybody who knows the other players?
Looks like we still small, I mean CLA did not yet field the Fil-Ams anyway.
Okebata is the No. 9 kid while Esomchi is the No. 20 kid?
