I think just for the sake of exposure

I mean I'm not belittling the coming SEABA under-tourney because seriously Indonesia and Thailand

is fast catching up esp. Thailand who are also active in scouting their overseas diaspora just like us

either Owen Calanasan or Aldwil Yap should occupy that 12th spot just to make their feet wet.

yes those kids are still lumbering but giving experience like that is beneficial for the Gilas Program moving forward

actually I've already mentioned this before and I can't help myself to spit it out again.

as for 6'7 Prince Carino and Goodluck Okebata , I've seen a glimpse of special things on those kids.

they had a good IQ to the game and had a good balance on the floor esp. Carino who is more matured compared to his contemporaries (may old soul ata)

I do hope his handlers may provide them a top notch skills trainer to unleash and hone their potential.

I totally agree on Sir Metta's suggestion from the other thread, maybe a US exposure for a possible D1 journey is a good investment.

but not all is a Andy Gemao or a Kiefer Alas.

Bro, did Patrick Pasinos make it to the U-16 final 12-man roster? How is he during practices?

Owen's 2008 born, not eligible for U16.

Though I'm all for that Andwil Yap for the 12th spot. If CLA will be having players ride the bench and enter the blowout games just for experience, might as well put the raw yet tallest players. Because as they say, you can't teach height.

Might aswell put in the 6'9 Tyler Reyes on there because right now, I think he has the highest upside and potential with all of our bigs project.

Can't really say Carino is a project because the kid knows ball.

The half filos probably will join the team when US summer comes.

Hopefully the team expands to 16 players, even the ones not in the 12,gets to play even in practice and scrimmages.

Hyping Tiffany Reyes is a much better bet than Tyler Reyes. He couldnt even outplay Tomas Cruz in Zobel.

It was like 1 - 2 yrs ago, he might have improve while training in US. We never know if he won't get tried in Batang Gilas.

Though I definitely agree with Tiffany, younger sis looks more polished and better than his brother.

Sir Jams,
cc:Sir SK

my "peeping Tom" friend haven't seen the kid during his personal sneak peak

that only last for less than 5 mins.

just pretending to be a passerby and a building personnel. "makapal ang mukha ni tropa, ma paraan".

it seems that the motors and strength of those african kids really stands out.

it's really in the genes.

Yup & its really amazing.
Ang nakikita kong drawback though is that halos puro ilalim ang laro nila with hardly any wingman skills like outside shooting, slashing. Malaki kasi talaga sila, stronger & more athletic, compared to their teammates, hence halos puro ilalim laro nila. Although of course it's too early to tell since they are still very very young. Hope as they progress, they will learn wingman skills like reliable ball handling, outside shooting, slashing & perimeter defense.

I hope they prioritise these kids (Esomchi, Okebata, Okafor, and Ben Edu) plus the fil-fors (Patton and Mize if he has passport already) rather than local players. this is just so we have less paperworks when they can rep for the seniors team.

Sir C2,
cc: Sir Jams,

Jordan Mize long arm is a standout and the kid is still growing

as usual thanks to his African genes.

we do hope the handlers of those Afro kids had a clear path to hook up those lads to a top notch drillmaster to extract that potential

good thing about Ben Edu, his 6'8 father is a former national player from Nigeria and he is the one who teaches all his boys the fundamentals.

I do hope coach tinyente and coach Gabe may somehow hired a skills coach trainer as part of the official coaching staff.

I was referring to Okebata, Esomchi & Okafor whom I described as "almost puro ilalim lang ang laro". Its only now that I saw a video of Jordan Mize & yes, Mize really is a natural wingman, most likely a 2-guard.

Long shot to have Mize IMO. Kid is a standout on his age bracket. Just recently won State Championship with Bryce. Would be part of U16 - U18 of US in no time. But if he chooses Gilas, who would not take it?

Patton is a more realistic recruit. that said, SBP should still pursue Mize. better to ask and be rejected, than not even being mentioned by the kid because noone officially asked him on time.
