Maybe we will be higher ranked than China, because their stint in 2016 Olympics for rankings will be cut within 8 year ranking cycle… they might go down further maybe below 40… While Iran still have their rankings stable because of their 2021 Olympic stint… Maybe we will be within 32-35 rank rage…

Not bad at 32-35. We need a podium finish in the Asia Cup next year. We lost too much momentum in the last 10 years with Reyes.

Lebanon hanging tough against Bahamas even without Arakji.

With the resurgence of Korea and maybe China, our path is not going to get any easier.

I am curious, what would your guys reaction be once this same lineup and coaching staff loses against Asian opponents? I think it's a matter of when instead of an if since other Asian countries are progressing to, my contention for the countries that would beat us would be Lebanon, Japan and Korea. That's why I think we shouldn't play our best team in Asian levels so that we can preserve this core for as long as possible from retarded fans and stakeholders who aren't keeping up with the program's progress. We should mainly develop side pieces that would help main players like Kai and Brownlee/Boatwright in the Asian level so that we would have a complete lineup when we compete against these powerhouse teams again assuming we have no detrimental injuries.

slovenia can’t repeat the run they had last 2021 OQT. safe to say no olympics this time for luka..

The style was already exposed come 22, luka and slovenia took fiba by storm that time and took a batum.defensive brilliance to stop them that time

22-5 run after cutting Bahamas' lead to 5, now let's see if Bahamas talent can overcome Spain's established system and international basketball pedigree

It’s also possible, with Korea’s ranking, another group of death is formed in the Asia Cup.

I just hope we won’t get drawn into it.

Right now, this pool is aging.

1987: Japeth
1988: Brownlee
1989: June Mar (November)
1990: Newsome (July 25)
1993: Scottie (July 12), CJ (November)
1996: Oftana, Malonzo (July 31)
1998: Dwight (September)
2000: AJ
2001: Carl, Quiambao
2002: Kai
2004: Mason (August 21)

Only 6 players will be younger than 30 by 2027, and 5 from the core 12. Currently, this pool has an average age of 28. We might peak early.

Damn this shit makes me feel old, I thought I still had plenty of time till my age group is considered "aging". I do hope Lopez, Alas, Konov, Caellum and Amos would be good enough to come off the bench against powerful teams in 2027, hopefully with Kai, Dwight, Tamayo, KQ and Edu(by some miracle stays healthy) reaching their ceilings by then.

What's next for kai? if he didn't get injured and continue to play well baka may NBA Team nagka interest sayang....

BLeague. But I think mutual agreement between SBP and Wassermann not to play him. NBA Summer League is near he needs to recover asap

with the absence of Kai, we have no chance vs Cameroon as well. They're just too physical, too big and won't quit. off night for Terrence Hill cost them the game

That's possible.. Look at the recent rankings of Asian teams and possibly pots of might be qualified teams in 2025 FIBA Asia cup

POT A: Australia (6), NZL (21), Japan (26), Lebanon (27)

POT B: Iran (28), China (29), Jordan (32), Philippines (37)

POT C: Korea (50), KSA (66), Bahrain (67), Kazakhstan (69)

POT D: Syria (71), Guam (72), Taiwan (81), Qatar (103)

Even Guam and Taiwan might be a threat if they upgraded their recent line up... We will see atleast 2 groups under group of death next year... That's how tough Asian competitions next year.. Bahrain might also become tougher team after OQT stint, Saudi as host of tourney...

Bahamas defeats Lebanon, all Asian teams are out of the OQT.

This is the best ever performance of Asian teams in OQT history... No Asian teams since 2000 (when OQT was implemented) reach 2nd round.. And both teams win atleast a game... Better performance than NZL... I dunno now the NZL guy here at forum have to say now? Both Philippines and Lebanon performed better than them...

I really hope Latvia wins against Brazil so we can say that we stole one from the strongest team in this pocket

It's already declared that Kai will not play in summer league this year...

source? I think his BLeague contracts are always with an NBA clause (if an NBA team signs him he's out, he's allowed to play in the Summer league even if he's still under Bleague contract ), and now that FIBA OQT's done essentially any Summer League team can get him to take a closer look before they sign him for pre-season camp
