also what do Perez's naysayers have to say about this game? He kept this close as hell until KQ threw it away

the pace became barabara (triangle formation but more isos and kickouts) and Perez waxed hot. good for us.

if KQ made his last 3, we would have won the game. it was a bad shot, but he was wide open, he should have made that haha

Aguilar also played kinda well in this game. the bench really stepped up tonight. I hope full force ulit vs Brazil

Coach Tim is a standup guy he will not easily drop any of these players, maybe Japeth and Amos as both are substitute for Edu and Jamie, but i bet Amos will stay in the pool, the only time he might drop anyone from this pool if because of bad attitude, though i think he might add some names in the pool i can see at max we will have 15 players in the pool

That’s why forget fantasy line ups under his era… he will not pick players who are not fit with him.. remember the triangle offense is very hard to learn… it will took years to learn the system… So it is almost impossible to tap such as Heading or Abando unless it is very needed… CTC again proved that he can adjust even his materials are not fully completed… he will stick to this crew until 2027…

I think amos will be in the program for a long time as a project and eventually crack the rotation as the older guys like japeth and jmf are no longer serviceable

this is probably japeth’s last tour of duty, what a way to retire from nt duties

KQ and Tamayo strikes me as dudes who are way too excited to make a difference, to the point they make boneheaded decisions or get ruined by nerves. This game is a testament to how much Cone trusts these 2 raw af players because a lot of crucial misses and turnovers were on them, which is good to me in the big picture, it shows this system has no favoritism and expects everyone to play their A games. I think these 2 will be invaluable pieces to Tim's gameplans once they discover the nuances to their games

yeah, even in the comm's cup when a lot of people were asking to replace Tony Bishop he sticked with him, for CTC if you are not fit on his system or if you have a bad attitude that is only the time that he will let you go of his team, after one season he opted to trade Ellis even for an injured dela cruz because Ellis do not fit on his system

This is so different from how we saw Chot handle the Wil Navarro and Francis Lopez tandem against god damn southeast asian teams. CTC extend 20 years

Abando will be included in the roster if he can play PG like CJ perez, hope he improves his handles and decision making

yes he likes the game of Amos, now the stakeholders in Philippine Basketball need to work out on how Kouame will be able to play regulary in the Philippines for him to be granted an exemption as he is the perfect replacement for Junemar, i think the last hurrah for Junemar and Brownlee will be in FIBA Asia cup 2025, after that Boatwright will take over the naturalized spot so it's really a must to get an exemption for Kouame

the reason why it's a no-no to tank games, just play whoever in front of you and try to win, the win against Latvia gave us a big boost, if we lost that game and with this short rest, the pressure will be higher for us to win this game, even if Georgia lead as much as 20 earlier in the game the pressure was still with them to maintain it, but that zone defense threw off Georgia's game plan and helped us to come back and almost win the game, win or lose in this tournament it's a good experienced for our players

In a short tournament, tanking is a no-no since a lot of factors would be out of your control, including the quotient (heck the nba teams learned that during the in season tournament)

kouame would be the perfect successor to JMF, a edu-kai-ange frontline will work well in CTC’s triangle and defense schemes

If Bennie gets the NP spot, we really need another defensive big, because defense is not Bennie's strength. Ange might fill in if exempted. We really need a defensive big, because AJ is injury-prone.

As we saw today/tonight, scheme can only do so much. We need the personnel to make it work.

yes, i read Quinito's article that the easiest way for a foreign-born player to get an exemption is by playing in the country they choose to represent for a long period of time, half of that was already achieved by Kouame with his Ateneo stint, if he can play as a local in PBA it will really help his case, as he has more reps in the Philippines compare to someone like QMB if he will be an option for exemption

Georgians in their official page of their Federation are mad right now. They cannot believe that their team had a hard time against Gilas. To be honest, I felt like Tim Cone intentionally threw the game in the final minutes.

And unlike 10 yrs ago we do have the personnel to make it work, we need to pull a lot of strings though to get ange exempted

was worried that CTC would stick the first 5 the whole game, but the Kai injury changed the circumstances. playing zone defense the whole 2nd half allowed minutes for Tamayo and KQ, plus more Perez minutes. i'd take that in a grander scheme of things perspective.

casual racism lol, either way, let these teams underestimate a lowly country from southeast asia
