But realtalk, FIBA OQT schedule sucks… why putting that horrible schedule for some teams? including us… I don’t know if we can perform the same way we did vs Latvia due to fatigue… Georgia are well rested and they didn’t played Shengelia against Latvia, for sure they reserved it against Gilas… next edition of OQT should be revisited… one day rest is enough for every team after the game…

It's basketball bro. FIBA is also test of how conditioned and sharp a country's players are for competition hence a pool of players is allowed and the home-and-away format.

I say we have a real shot vs Georgia. Their coach is not as bright as Luca Banchi (Best Coach of FIBA World Cup 2023). Players not as mature and polished as Latvians. We'll be confident and ready later.

If hypothetically Georgia wins by 19 (God forbid)
Then
Georgia: -28+19= -9
Gilas: +9 -19=-10
*Edited
Then Georgia now has the differential in that scenario.
That's why lowkey I wanted them to get a shot or a drive with less than 10 secs left just to try to pad our quotient

I’m worried here.. Georgia have their 1 day rest, we are tired, they didn’t played Shengelia against Latvia to be prepared for their big game vs Gilas… this scheduling sucks.. FIBA organizers should notice this.. it’s brutal to schedule some teams not more than 18 hrs in games between…

I think the morale of Latvia is down right now… they are not sure if they can win against either Brazil or Montenegro… actually the OQT in Riga is the most unpredictable who will make it in all 4 stages of OQT events… In Spain, it will be either Spain or Bahamas, while Greece is favored in Greece OQT then either Lithuania or Italy in Puerto Rico edition… In Riga, we don’t know who are the favorites… for sure Latvia is the favorite, but their lose against us will doubt some experts if Latvia can pull thru…

Latvia w/o Porzingis ain't it. System too reliant on threes ala 2018 Houston Rockets without isolation. I think the toughest team in this tournament is Brazil. Not sure how we're gonna match up with their speed and athleticism. Unlike the Euro-teams, brazil is NBA-esque. Who's gonna stop Bruno Caboclo?

How can Newsome guard Marcelino Huertas and Yugo Santos?

Who will contain Raul Neto?

Not this era bro.. if players before agree with this schedule, players today and some fans are not agree with this stupid scheduling… next OQT should be revisited… make it atleast 1 day rest every match… players are not robots… Croatia also complaining with their schedule, that cost their lost vs NZL… even Bahamas coaching staff didn’t agree with their schedule …

Players in this tournament do this for a living bro. They can handle. Ball is life.

They were not scouted last year, that’s why Latvia surprised everybody… I also admit it that I overestimated Latvia.. No one knows that Gilas can beat this tough team

They can complain all they want but it's the competition schedule. Intrams nga sa school 2-3 games in a day sunod sunod. They are professionals bro.

I will never, ever forget coach seyer's "bahala na kayo". The last stupid coaching? Nope. His son's basura team got bulldozed by 96 points.

I can stop watching basketball. Marunong ng maglaro at manalo ng basketbol na mga pinoy. But, i can still travel to europe when they go up against the top five teams.

I respect Josh Reyes to his contributions to Gilas program.. but he has to go after this event… he can be scout manager to find fil-foreigners overseas… that should be his role… sakit sa mata plays nya… we are better than these.. we looked like Maldives against team USA

So Japan and the Philippines can do what Asian teams can't do for a very long time - beating European teams in men's basketball. The shorter Asian teams just did what Middle Easterners and China supposed to do.

But next time it should be revisited and have rest to any teams… they have to protect the safety of our players… some of those players are playing for free or little money….

China with Yao Ming beating European teams before Japan and Gilas did… they beat Nowitzki led Germany in 2008 Olympics, Slovenia and Yugoslavia in 2006 World Cup…

Imagine if Gilas gets to play these kind of teams, even against lower tier European teams, on a yearly basis. Kahit mga 6 to 8 games a year lang.

Kai is the best big in Asia! Haha. FU to those who banned us! Haha.

Australia should send all their bigs to Kai! I'm standing by my prediction that Kai will be the best big in Asia/Oceania! Haha 1 to 2yrs and that would be the reality!

This is the best time to be a pinoy bball fan. This is just a start of Gilas Golden Generation!haha

He will bro… just wait for his prime years… even those overrated Japan team will have hard time beating us… they are small… Watanabe and Hachimura are overrated by those fans here…

No longer talking what happened more than 15 years ago. I am talking about now or the past 4-5 years until today.

Let's not be cocky bros. We should celebrate with this very huge huge win against world's No. 6 team, but this win should not deceive us into thinking that we are now the best team in Asia. That's something we have to prove in next year's FIBA Asia Cup. Saka na tayo magyabang if we win the gold medal of the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup.

Even the dumbest won’t dare think nor suggest that a national team should tank or throw away a game to save energy for their next opponent. Robert, our village idiot, exceeds himself again. Cheers to Robert, forever soft in the head.

No one thinks here, even you will beat Latvia.. we are realistic, but kudos to Tim cone… I don’t want to argue stupid people… but don’t be celebrated early… we are not done yet… Georgia hiding their cards… you are stupid if you say Georgia is easy opponent… Shengelia didn’t played vs Latvia.. for sure he will be unleash ba Gilas later on…

we are not the best Asian team but those supposedly the best and tall Asian teams (China, Iran, Lebanon, and Jordan) cannot beat Europeans for the past five years or so. Ironically, Japan and Philippines did and I'm happy about it.

Imagine if our young players like Kai, AJ Edu, Carl Tamayo, Kevin Quiambao, Mason Amos, Dalph Panopio (though not part of the current Gilas pool) gets this kind of exposure on a yearly basis.

I always disagree that Japan is better than us… they may have better system, but with Tim cone, we are not far behind, and we have better players than them… many people overrating this Japanese team… there is nothing special on Japan (in my opinion)… they have always hard time against teams who are bigger and taller than them… and we are bigger (in terms of size) than Japan…

Although China already achieved too beating France in u17 event… still another success by another Asian team… I don’t know why China is good in youth category while when they reached seniors, they became weak… is CBA become harmful to the development of Chinese basketball?
