With the way Latvia plays today vs Georgia, it’s hard to beat them with those style of game.. they are 10x newly advanced Korean team, very fast, very discipline, streaky shooters and can play defense too… I don’t see we can beat this Latvia team… Georgia might have a chance but we need to have superhuman performance of our main players…

that 18 year old of Bahamas is good, how is wish Coach Tim includes some of our youth team's standouts in the senior pool to be an understudy and play them in minor tournaments like SEA games

Well, Amos is there, Kai is still young, KQ and Tamayo are young, same as Edu…our future is safe

Latvia destroying Georgia right now, 47-28, Q3.

Better more focus beating Georgia… play limited minutes for key players such as JB, Ramos and JMF, so that they are fresh playing against Georgia… I’m sure Georgia is also focus beating us too… so better play chess game here…

Exactly

amos is young but not as young as our youth players, what i want is those 16–18-year-old players that are part of the youth team, the player from Bahamas is just a Baylor committed player and has not even play a single college game, KAI, KQ and Tamayo were already on their 20's and not part of the youth team anymore

knowing Coach Tim i think they will still play and try to win and if any case that we will get blown out, i think he will use the game to prepare against Georgia by letting the players to be more acclimated to his system, so i don't think he will sit out or give limited minutes to the main players not unless it's already a blow out entering the 4th quarter

I'm fine with a blowout against Latvia, it's a very strong team that's determined to win this competition, I just hope it's by max 28-35 instead of the 60 point absolute ass blasting that the u17 team is receiving

This Gilas team needs a good warm up against Latvia to have a superhuman performance vs Georgia.

Knowing this core, no such thing as burn out. Remember back in the Asian Games, they played tough Iran-China-Jordan games in the playoffs and they still prevailed.

Tim can tell his boys to go all out against Latvia then lose but still play with the same type of energy the next game vs Georgia.

But we can still use them for more than 10 years… so we still safe… as for younger players, we have guys like Harris, Alas, Lopez, Femi Edu, etc… to name a few… so we are not lacking of young prospects…

That would work when you have 2 import level players in Brownlee and Kouame carrying the team, the absence of AJ Edu will be sorely felt here, I can already see the multiple putbacks and posterizers that'll make up 3/4 of Latvia's lead and most of those will probably be over Tamayo, Sotto and KQ(if he gets some playing time)

I love Luka, and I admire his dedication to his national team.. he’s the national hero for Slovenia.. but I think he should rest rather than trying to led Slovenia this year… and the talent of his teammates is way below top tier Euroleague level… if doncic not playing Slovenia, they are on level of England or Portugal… Luka needs rest…

Ball is life for him. let him be.. better than those who declined..

Remember, the separation of game schedule between vs Latvia and vs Georgia is less than 20 hrs… they are not superhuman.. professional athletes can’t play to their 100% level performance with that little rest… if they have a more than 24 hrs rest then we can say Brownlee and rest of starters can play more than 30 minutes… I know we always take pride whenever Gilas is playing, But we have to be wise this time… and also remember Tim cone is notorious in the PBA for tanking games especially if they are going to positioning to the playoffs… remember their final elims game against NLEX, he didn’t played Scottie, Cstand and Japeth longer minutes because he knew the game is not important… If you follow CTC since then, he’s notorious on that… that game vs Latvia is actually not that important because even we lose, we still have a chance… so it’s possible that CTC will limit Brownlee, Ramos, Kai and Junmar minutes just to be more prepared against very crucial encounter with Georgia

So you're saying Latvia can't play their 100% level performance against Gilas later? Since they will also have less than 20hrs rest when they face us. We should go for the kill then because we're more rested. Later it will either be Gilas-with-rust vs warmed up Latvia or fresh-and-rested Gilas vs tired-and-banged-up Latvia.

We have nothing to lose in this tournament. No need to play cards right or strategize, no need for mind games, since no one is expecting us to win and this is a very short tournament. Our best player in JB can't even make the NBA. We will only know how far this team can truly go if we go all out against Latvia then make the simple but necessary adjustments vs Georgia which is more winnable. We have to go into this tournament thinking maybe we can beat these teams if we put our full effort but totally detach from the outcome. We can't have a loser mentality otherwise it will just be a cycle every World-level tournament we participate in. No one is expecting us to reach Paris 2024 but let's at least try to breakthrough by playing to beat Latvia.

Also the confidence we get by how we fare vs Latvia going into the Georgia game will be very important. Can't really gauge where the team is if we rest JB Dwight and JMF. We need a cinderella run to go to Paris 2024, and if you watch the games, all teams play with a sense of urgency and pride right from the tip off. It's yet to be seen if we can keep up with their pace and level of execution, can't do that by limiting minutes and saving the best for last.

If you're a true baller you know the importance of constantly playing to stay sharp and in condition.... Luka loves to play for Slovenia regardless of the results

Mavs is his day job, Slovenia is his why. Players these days are less durable because they rest too much (just look at Kawhi)
