Height wise nod bad, they have also some quickness (except Kai), But that is the best option for now... Tamayo is good match up against Latvia and Georgia... Don't ever try doing JMF - Kai pairing... That will be a disaster in a making... Newsome should limit Zagars and Thomasson (Georgia NP) effectiveness on the floor... Tamayo should give more playing time here since he's the only forward that can match up against Latvia and Georgia's versatile forwards

I would even move Brownlee and KQ to PF and Tamayo at 5. This will make us quicker and switch on all PnR plays

Maybe yes... Heading is a free agent as of now... A Gilas spot will be materialize if he joins Terrafirma (Dyip hold his rights)... SMC teams have their picks plus some usable players (Teng, Manuel or Onwubere) to use to trade for Heading BTW...

Tamayo is not used to play 5... And don't do that vs Shermadini & Goga Bidatze of Georgia and Cavars of Latvia... They are both too tall and skilled for him, All of them can shoot threes and penetrate.. We have to trust Kai and JMF even they are bit slower..

I agree to not do that against any team outside the Philippines. But tamayo was a 5 during his time with adu and nu high school. So he knows how to move underneath.

Well, that was last decade... When he was in college until now, He's always either 3 or 4 spot... depending on situation... But he's fit at 4 rather than 3...
 
Will Gilas duplicate this one too when they will face Georgia in OQT?

he's also the most erratic passer among the gilas guards, or even possibly this entire team.

Agree with this. Decent passing/playmaking and steady handles (can weave thru full court press and double teams plus dribble penetration) must be a prerequisite for our point guard and shooting guard pool. Combo guards and wings in the world level are longer and taller than ours so those skills are critical.
 
Anyone got the Turkey lineup for tonight’s friendly? What’s everyone’s prediction?

I still can’t believe for a country full of guards we don’t have 1 natural point guard on the team.
 
I have no problems with Gilas sending only 11 players, since they'll be only playing 2 games max.....lols
