With the success of the Asian Games stint, SBP may want to tap the core of the current Asian Games squad for familiarity assuming Tim Cone will be the coach.

Asiad Core or just get the right piece.. Kouame isnt alocal so Aj Edu tyake his place Japeth with Kai Sotto.. as for others.. Oftana is a piece.. not teh best of it but can be our version of dobric or a Kalinic.

Asian level is different in world level..

I will just replace these guys:
Lassiter

Tolentino
Japeth
Alas

with edu, kai, malonzo, parks, RJ and amos for kouame

The remainder are Scottie, Oftana, Newsome, June Mar, Brownlee (NP), and Perez.

I think Dwight Ramos could replace one of Oftana, Newsome, and CJ. Dwight's still an integral part of Gilas, as shown in the WC.

Ramos for Newsome… oftana is a vital in wing spot… Perez is a good back up pg… but we need longer preparation for this….

dwight should play oftanas role.. he isnt a brownlee or clarkson to do rukawa things for us..

I think Matthew Wright should be given some considerations after the way he played in the B league last season, in some instances he was playing point guard and had decent shooting percentages.

he was great in the pba and sea games as well. he just refuses to shoot especially in crucial instances, even when he's open despite being the teams best shooter. even in the b,league, he'd lead his team in scoring/shooting and then pass up open shots in the 4th qtr in close games

If only Wright is 3 or 4 years younger, I would like to give him another chance. But he's 32 right now.

The difference with oftana and rosario is oftana thinks if he tales the shot while troy just jack up threes in this levelyou need to have variety sure calvin passed some open shots but it made the defense think

And Oftana is a better defender. Troy could have been, but man, what a waste.

If TC remains as the coach, what are the chances of Abarrientos, Bolick, Tamayo, and Baltazar being given a spot on the team?

Baltazar, little chance. Bolick, I dunno, probably blacklisted. Cone has trained with Carl before, in the August window. As for RJ, I dunno.

Maybe they'll go with veterans. Hopefully, the roster won't be too old. Continuity going to 2025 and 2027 is important.

They are pros already. Maybe not in the PBA but pros in overseas. I hope that Tim Cone does not see them as rookies just because they are not PBA players.

Oftana obviously has better handles than Troy which allows Oftana to play the 3 spot. Troy on the other hand is a natural 4.

I think the same could be said about Jamie Malonzo who I think is more of a 4 than a 3. Oftana has better handles than Malonzo.

I agree, Oftana has better handles. In addition, he moves naturally smooth which makes him a natural 3, unlike Troy who moves stiff.

I remember watching Troy Rosario during his NU days, he had the foot speed, athleticism and lateral movement to play the small forward position. I think he started out as a volleyball player and only started playing basketball late in his teenage years so his basketball basics wasnt that good at all. And once he got into the PBA TNT tried to make him into the second coming of RDO, limited him into being a spot up shooter and made him bulk up. Kinda a shame when you think about it he could have been a quicker and more athletic version of Justin Baltazar in the FIBA windows.

if 6'8 Carl Tamayo can sustain and still improve in the BLeague, then we may have found our starting SF.

sayang joe devance couldve been a perfect fiba player circumstances make him ineligible as he didnt able to be in Fiba competitions pre hagop.
