People in ibn still arent used on drama less announce ment of final 12..This isnt chot era where he always want Gilas to be engage in different media (like your typical attention seeking vlogger)

I just hope that this roster won't get blown out by opponents

I don’t care if we blown by against them… Our main target is 2027 FIBA WC.. let them develop their chemistry as years goes by… we are not ready for 2024 Paris Olympics… just treat this as our preparation games… we will not always facing European teams every year..

Is that the final roster? Last minute hugot from 3 different leagues. Good luck with familiarity and cohesion.

With the way Scottie has been playing in the PBA, I would have gotten Keifer or Thirdy instead.

Amos has also been lackluster so far.

This is the reason why you have a pool. Some get injured or play subpar, others can step up. Now we see Cones fixation on just 12 is BS. It’s just a way to exclude other deserving players from the pool. Now what if Scottie, CJ, Mason and Japeth suck? Will he again add to the pool? Saying his initial 12 was the best we have was BS. It is the best SMC has and it might probably be not enough.

Honestly, I don't think we should drop Scottie, considering the composition of the pool. He's still a good defender in FIBA. Without AJ, we will need every defender we have. JB, Newsome, Scottie, and Dwight are our only reliable defenders so far. We need as many of them as possible to at least get our perimeter defense ready.

In the Asian games the Kouame less lineups sucked even with JB. Lets see if Kai makes up for it. I think JF can give more effort on defense with less minutes. But he cant be our primary center.

We'll have to rely on outscoring the opponent and perimeter defense that prevents easy baskets.

As for June Mar, I hope we see as little of him partnered with Kai, Mason, Carl, and KQ. There's a risk of us giving up more than we score.

and you’re against with kiefer from the get go while everyone wants his inclusion because he is old. While some in the pool are older than him

I couldn't remember posting here at IBN expressing my opposition on Kiefer's inclusion in the Gilas pool. Maybe I said like I prefer Bolick or Heading or Dalph Panopio in the pool instead of Kiefer but it does not equate to not liking Kiefer in the Gilas pool.

Well it would still make a lot of sense if we are able to keep it close against Turkiye & Polska even if we'll lost both games.

Junemar and Edu would've worked.

Junemar and Kai could work if the latter’s defense has improved but it’s against Euro bigs so I’m doubtful.

If that's the mindset...why are we even using Brownlee. Will he be our most probable NP in 2027? If the answer is no, why not test/prepare the other candidates while it's still early.

An NP transforms the whole team dynamic and changing it at the last minute throws away all preparation (unless you get an exact type of player).

Because Boatwright is not yet naturalized

They'll play the same role of go-to guy. The difference is JB's edge in playmaking and defense.

The type of go-to-guy matters, they don't even play the same position. It's like swapping Butler and Embiid, it changes the teams' dynamics.

Well, I think everytime we form a national team it would be a balance between immediate result (the win now mentality) & preparing for the near future mentality. Focusing on one thing would mean compromising the other. Kaya nga it should be balanced.

And it's difficult becoz most Pinoy fans are impatient & unforgiving. If we focus too much on development or preparing for the future, we compromise winnability or immediate results. And we all know how Pinoy fans react to loses.

Otherwise if we focus too much on winnability/immediate results, then we sacrifice development or our preparation for the future.

That is exactly the case. No one has the patience for future dividends.

Come on mamon, in age of analytics et al., as if we will try to rebuild the next Justine Brownlee.. we will just sign his replacement infuture fiba iterations(if Jordan Clarkson cannot replicate it)..

Of all people that a player would break the short training camp protocol is his own player iskati.. haha

short pool is good right? no need to increase the pool right?
