Brownlee part of the oqt all tournament team (riga)

Marcelinho should be there instead of Hill. He shot his team out of the game in the semis.

Ramos is actually Euroleague ready player… He can be a rotational or even a starter in a right team in Europe… if we want to have many players to be same caliber as Ramos then bring those players to play in Europe.. but you know money is too big to pass up in Japan or Korea… I think after our impressive OQT run, I’m sure some Euroleague teams already contacting guys like Ramos or Kai if they are available and sign contracts to play any Euroleague teams…

Kai and Dwight in Euroleague will set the bar high for our young players. It's a much more sustainable career than the NBA. This is the importance of winning. Now European teams can see the skill and athletic superiority of Filipinos over their locals.

This is one tough group for Japan. They will face France, Germany and Brazil - these are the top teams in Europe and Latin Americas, respectively. I wonder what will be the gameplan of Hovasse. France is one heck of a talented team even though they flopped last year. Germany has the talent and the system and Japan already lost to them. Brazil is one tough defensive team filled with athletic and physical players.

Feels like France is the odd man out in that group (japan, germany and brazil) too bad Italy didnt make it

Valencia oqt all tournament team, even with all those nba players bahamas still cant get it done

Puerto Rico is back. Just solidifies how we should be emulating Latin teams.

These countries booked their tickets to Paris. Congrats:

Because they don’t have lack of depth of the bench… Spain is very loaded in every position…

I’m not against B league or KBL but both are low level leagues compare to Europe… Having our players playing in Europe is like we have already borderline NBA players… many big name Europeans who are already settling continue playing in Europe rather than being a bench player in the NBA…

This has to be the olympics with the.most no of teams coming from the americas since they allowed pros to play..

Chot Reyes joined the conversation, lol

Not with his brand of small ball with three guards (except if the 3 is Gabe), an undersized wing, and still keeping a two-big lineup (except if guys like Dwight are the 4). The basis of small ball for me is just 4 and 5. Having a natural PF at 4 and a center at 5 is not small ball, no matter how small your 1-2-3 is.

Just small in size, not a lot of positional versatility. Cone and Tab have that with Gilas.

Will we see Juan GDL eventually play for Cone wearing a Gilas uniform? He's the only Pinoy player with Euro experience albeit in a limited stint.

1GDL. Man... All he needs is opportunity. He's better than all the point guards we've ever had. You heard me right. Better than the Jason Castros, Jimmy Alapags and Terrence Romeos. Imagine him and Schonny manning the point. CJ and Newsome can mentor them on their way out.

Back to 1GDL, that guy is tough. A rare breed. He has that NBA aura that hasn't necessarily translated yet into his game in the pros but put him in Tim's system and you'll see the plethora of options we have with him at 1. I can see him bullying European guards and outsmarting Latino guards. And downright toying with Asian guards.

Him, Robert Bolick and Schonny are bonafide POINTS GUARD. They're Terrence Romeos in 6'1-6'3 frame. Once they're hot, they're hot. And no they're not limited to teardrops and jump stop threes. All of them can shoot off the dribble and drive at will. Let's move Dwight again to 2 and JC at 3, and have these 3 mentioned PGs run the offense.

3/4 of the host countries won the OQT. Only one faltered, and that was the team PHL beat, Latvia

Not to take away the fact the americas team Puerti Rico and Brazil beat some good euro teams in Italy, Lithuania and Latvia

Latvia was damaged goods after the PHI loss. They doubted themselves and their system. After they unconvincing win against Cameroon, I thought Brazil will take them out and they did.

Argentina could take the place of Venezuela. The Venezuelans have been underwhelming since 2016. With Argentina, you could expect them to give a fight back against Europeans.

If we hosted the OQT do you think it's 4/4? Imagine the crowd and the emotions in MOA/Araneta if we made the Olympics. It will top JC's onslaught vs China, win vs Korea. Also sure statue of JB and Tim outside MOA/Araneta if that happened.
