I just stick with the current plan. Most of the development isnt the job of Gilas either way but rather the mother teams.

It's really more on the individual player than mother teams, I agree some players are just there out of obligation because someone forced them to join, for clout or to earn instead of actually being into basketball as a sport.

Developing a player that knows when to take shots, how to protect their dribbles, when to pass and knowing their game is possible under gilas, that's the only thing the Philippines really have besides pba, mpbl with the mayor and the showbiz all star games with vice ganda and his boyfriends

Latvia getting creamed by Brazil 24 point lead after one quarter, 7/7 3fg, it seems our win against Latvia is not a fluke as we also dominated them, maybe as unit they are good but we will always have trouble against bigger, more physical and athletic team, what i see with Latvia they don't have a player that is individually dominant if Porzingis is not playing

Latvias struggle in this famous songline: Too much modern ball will kill you..

At first qtr brazil scored 34..even though they got hot in 2bd half we limit brazil to 70..

If only tim learn how to play triangle with depth like he did in san mig

yes, actually we still had a chance last night as Brazil can't really pull away it's just the offense did not click, it's a manageable lead that looks like a big lead because of how bad Gilas' offense was, and when we brought down the lead to 7 or 6, Lolo Huertas happened, Latvia was a surprise team last world cup but they were really not known as an elite European team, and this status will now be dependent on the health of Porzingis

Brazil's win against Montenegro wasn't a fluke

I want Latvia to win this one because it just sucks when a home team loses with their fans. Unless the home team is china. Also as long the opposing team is not Gilas lol.

one reason you can support Brazil as a pinoy bball fan is they actually used their full force lineup against us, all of their ace players had playing time against us, unlike Latvia with Zagars. They respected our team

Dont get me wrong this latvia team is good the motor ball movement its just they undersized in frontcourt.. just didnt think a comeback will be enough in a 40 minute game especially if petrovic is coaching brazil...

We faced brazil in a do or die game and zagars.. the other point guard played better than him currently..

Brazil really did Montenegro a dirty by not playing harder than usual vs Cameroon

Part of euro tactics.. you eliminate contenders just ask croatia did vs slovenia when they tank to new zealand.. like tim cone said youre here not to win games but to win the tournament. You want to make lasting impact to your opponent even after the final buzzer

Makes sense. Montenegro reaching the semis, there is a possibility they will win that game, and will face Brazil again in the Finals.

So wait, did Latvia do the same thing to Georgia and didnt play hard(er) vs PHL? So that Georgia be eliminated early?

Which leads us to this scenario: What if PHL didnt settle for the 2 point loss, and went out for the win. PHL will be 2-0 and the top seed and will play Cameroon in the semis. Not saying its an easy game, but probably PHL has better chances to advance in the Finals.

yes, system wise they are a good team, like what i mentioned in my earlier post collectively they are great, but they lack a player that can dominate individually when their system is not working, that is supposed to be the role of Kristap if available

it was a 3-point game before the foul of Georgia, i think if it's just a 2-point game, i think coach tim will design a play to win with a 3pt shot, though we had several chances to lead and have the full momentum, two of KQ's fastbreak attempt that did not result to anything, a missed three and two missed FTs, and maybe they didn't anticipated that Cameroon will win against Brazil

Brazil is on the way to another Olympic appearance. This is a defensive masterclass against Latvia. I think Gilas is the second-best team in this Riga tournament, IMHO. We found a way to beat a Euro team but we yet to beat a LatAm team. We'll get there eventually.
